Abstract

Se proporciona un sistema y método para aplicaciones de motores de combustión interna híbridos eléctricos en los que un motor-generador, un acoplamiento conmutable estrecho y una unidad de transmisión del par entre los mismos están dispuestos y posicionados en el entorno restringido al frente de un motor en aplicaciones tales como vehículos comerciales, vehículos todoterreno e instalaciones de motores estacionarias. Preferiblemente, el motor-generador está posicionado desplazado lateralmente del acoplamiento conmutable, que está dispuesto coaxialmente con el extremo frontal del cigüeñal del motor. El acoplamiento conmutable es una unidad integrada en la que un amortiguador de las vibraciones del cigüeñal, una polea de accionamiento de accesorios del motor y un embrague desacoplable se superponen de manera que la profundidad axial de la unidad de embrague-polea-amortiguador es casi la misma que la polea de correa de transmisión y amortiguador del motor convencionales. El sistema de motor-generador de extremo frontal incluye un almacenamiento de energía eléctrica que recibe la energía eléctrica generada por el motor-generador cuando se acopla el acoplamiento. Cuando el acoplamiento es desacoplado, el motor-generador puede accionar la porción de polea del embrague-polea-amortiguador para accionar los accesorios del motor utilizando la energía devuelta desde el almacenamiento de energía, independientemente del cigüeñal del motor.
