Abstract
La sustancia de impregnación para fuego se produce mediante polimerización de componentes no tóxicos de tal manera que el pentaeritritol (5% a 90% de la masa) y el polifosfato de amonio (5% a 90% de la masa) se agregan al agua (30% a 96% de la masa) con una temperatura de 5°C a 98°C y la solución se mezcla hasta que sea pura. La relación mutua de los componentes de pentaeritritol y polifosfato de amonio puede variar desde 1:18 a 18:1. Durante la producción de los productos de madera fibrosa o producto de celulosa, tal como aglomerado o madera prensada, las astillas o las virutas de aserradero se sumergen en la sustancia de impregnación antes de poner en contacto y presionar, o la sustancia de impregnación se agrega al adhesivo o aglutinante, respectivamente, que recubre las virutas o astillas antes de presionarse en el producto deseado. Los núcleos de microintumescencia dentro del material, principalmente en superficies de las astillas, virutas o fibras originales, subsecuentemente producen capas de activación gradual que evitan la permeación de los efectos del fuego.
