Abstract

La presente descripción hace referencia a células hospedadoras de levadura recombinantes que presentan (i) una primera modificación genética para reducir la producción de una o más enzimas de origen natural que sirven para producir glicerol o que regulan la síntesis de glicerol y/o hacen posible la producción de una glucoamilasa heteróloga, y (ii) una segunda modificación genética para reducir la producción de una o más enzimas de origen natural que sirven para producir trehalosa o que regulan la síntesis de trehalosa y/o hacen posible la expresión de una trehalasa heteróloga. Las células hospedadoras de levadura recombinante se pueden utilizar para limitar la producción de trehalosa (en particular la trehalosa extracelular, producidas con levadura) durante la fermentación y, en alguna modalidades, pueden aumentar la producción de un producto de fermentación (tal como, por ejemplo, etanol).
