La presente descripción se relaciona generalmente con un método y dispositivo de codificación de una imagen en color que tiene componentes de color (Ec), caracterizado por que comprende: - obtener (130) un componente de luminancia (L) que comprende: - obtener (120) un valor de modulación (Ba) de la luminancia (Y) de la imagen en color; - obtener una luminancia escalada dividiendo la luminancia (Y) de la imagen en color por el valor de modulación (Ba); - obtener el componente de luminancia (L) aplicando una función no lineal sobre la luminancia escalada de modo que la dinámica del componente de luminancia (L) se reduzca en comparación con la dinámica de la luminancia escalada ; - la obtención de los dos componentes de crominancia (C1, C2) que comprende: - obtener un factor (r(L(i)) que depende del valor del pixel (i) del componente de luminancia (L(i)) y el valor de luminancia (Y(i)) del pixel (i) colocalizado in la imagen en color; - obtener (150) al menos un componente de color intermedio (E'c) multiplicando cada componente de color (Ec) por el factor (r(L(i)); y - obtener (170) los dos componentes de crominancia (C1, C2) de al menos un componente de color intermedio (E´c); y - codificar (180) la luminancia (L) y dos componentes de crominancia (C1, C2).
