Abstract

Un aparato y método para fabricar un cuerpo de panal de cerámica segmentado poroso (340, 340´) que comprende canales axiales (216) que se extienden desde una primera cara de extremo (220) a una segunda cara de extremo (224); una pluralidad de segmentos de panal de cerámica porosa (204) axialmente movida después de las respectivas aberturas (110) de un dispositivo de aplicación de adhesivo (100); se aplica adhesivo (118) a través de las aberturas (126) en el dispositivo de aplicación de adhesivo (100) en las superficies axiales periféricas de cada segmento de panal de cerámica porosa (204); la pluralidad de segmentos de panal de cerámica porosa (204) entra en una abertura amplia (318) de una cámara cónica (314) y sale por una abertura angosta (322) de la cámara cónica (314); una pared cónica (326) de la abertura amplia (318) a la abertura angosta (322) presiona la pluralidad de segmentos de panal de cerámica porosa (204) juntos formando el cuerpo de panal segmentado de cerámica porosa (340, 340´); el adhesivo (118) sobre las superficies axiales periféricas entre los respectivos segmentos de panal de cerámica porosa (204) se distribuye mediante la presión.
