Abstract
Se proporciona un proceso hidrometalúrgico para la extracción selectiva de uno o más metales objetivo a partir de minerales, concentrados, relaves, escorias u otros sólidos metalíferos, combinando simultáneamente lixiviación con sorción en el estado de sólidos húmedos. La sorción se realiza por medio de sorbentes tales como resinas de intercambio iónico, carbón activado, zeolitas, entre otros, y sus mezclas. El proceso comprende las etapas de: (a) mezclar los sólidos metalíferos con agentes de lixiviación ácidos o básicos, uno o más sorbentes y una cantidad suficiente de una solución acuosa para humedecer sustancialmente tanto los sólidos metalíferos como el sorbente sin formar una suspensión, para obtener así sólidos húmedos; (b) realizar lixiviación y sorción en sólidos húmedos; (c) diluir los sólidos húmedos y preparar una pulpa por medio de la adición de una solución acuosa; (d) separar el sorbente cargado de la pulpa; (e) eluir (desorber) los metales objetivo desde el sorbente cargado con un eluyente a un eluato, retornando a continuación el sorbente de regreso a la etapa de mezclado (a); y (f) recuperar los metales objetivo desde el eluato para obtener uno o más productos metálicos finales, retornando el eluyente de regreso a la etapa de elución (e). La invención tiene como ventaja principal mejorar la recuperación de metales a una tasa reducida de consumo de agentes de lixiviación.
