Abstract

Un método para tratar petróleo crudo que comprende poner en contacto el petróleo con una formulación de fluido de tratamiento, que comprende un material polimérico, el cual comprende unidades repetidas de alcohol vinílico, donde el material polimérico es de un tipo que tiene un peso molecular medio ponderal comprendido en el intervalo de 5000 a 50 000 y/o donde la viscosidad de una solución acuosa al 4 en peso del material polimérico a 2 °C está comprendida en el intervalo de 1.5 a 7 cP. El petróleo se puede poner en contacto con la formulación de fluido de tratamiento bajo tierra mediante, por ejemplo, inyección de la formulación de fluido de tratamiento en un pozo de inyección o pozo de producción, y de este modo se incrementa significativamente la movilidad del petróleo que se ha puesto en contacto con la formulación.
