Abstract

Un método para tratar petróleo crudo que comprende poner en contacto el petróleo con una formulación de fluido de tratamiento, que comprende un material polimérico, el cual comprende unidades repetidas de alcohol vinílico, donde dicho material polimérico es de un tipo que tiene un peso molecular medio ponderal comprendido en el rango de 5000 a 50 000 y/o donde la viscosidad de una solución acuosa al 4% en peso del matrial polimérico a 2 grados centígrados está comprendida enel rango de 1.5 a 7 cP. El petróleo se puede poner en contacto con la formulación de fluido de tratamiento en un pozo de inyección o pozo de producción, y de este modo se incrementa significativamente la movilidad del petróleo que se ha puesto en contacto con la formulación.
