Abstract

Ciertos aspectos de esta descripción se relacionan a un método para amplificar un locus genómico. En ciertas modalidades, el método puede comprender: a) poner en contacto una población de células hospederas bacterianas con un inhibidor de una enzima esencial, donde las células hospederas bacterianas comprenden un locus genómico de la estructura: A1-P-M-A2, donde A1 y A2 son repeticiones directas, P comprende una secuencia de codificación para un polipéptido, y M comprende una secuencia de codificación para la enzima esencial, y b) seleccionar las células que son resistentes al inhibidor; en donde células que son resistentes al inhibidor tienen copias múltiples de la unidad de amplificación.
