Abstract
Un sistema para uso en la formación de composiciones de polímero, que incluye como un reemplazo para sistemas de resina de base fenólica, por ejemplo, en la preparación de moldes de fundición. En una modalidad preferida, el sistema incluye el uso de a) un componente que contiene hidroxilo polimerizable que comprende una sustancia húmica (como puede ser proporcionada por lignito), b) un componente de isocianato, y c) un componente de catalizador, y de preferencia catalizador de amina, adaptado para catalizar la polimerización de a) y b). El sistema opcionalmente se utiliza como sistema de aglutinante en la presencia de un rellenador, tal como, en combinación con un agregado de fundición tal como arena. Un sistema de polímero de esta invención puede estar sustancialmente libre de formaldehído o fenol, y de preferencia contiene poco o nada de solventes aromáticos.
