Abstract
Se presenta un aparato y método para el secado en vacío de materiales orgánicos con microondas, tales como productos alimenticios. El aparato tiene una cámara de vacío con microondas 20, un módulo de carga 36, para cargar recipientes 38 del material orgánico en la cámara de vacío, una jaula cilíndrica rotatoria 64 en la cámara de vacío para hacer girar los recipientes, un pistón 114 para desplazar los recipientes rotatorios a través de la cámara de vacío, y medios para descargar los recipientes de material deshidratado de la cámara de vacío. El aparato puede incluir una cámara de equilibrio 150 para enfriar el material deshidratado bajo presión reducida, y un módulo de transferencia 42 para transferir los recipientes desde la cámara de vacío hacia la cámara de equilibrio.
