Abstract

De acuerdo con la invención se proporciona un método para alimentar a un animal rumiante con una ración de alimento para aumentar su estabilidad de producción de leche a través de un ciclo de lactación de etapas múltiples. La ración de alimento debe contener: por lo menos una fuente de forraje primaria seleccionada del grupo que consiste de ensilaje de maíz de nervadura central parda, ensilaje de maíz de doble aprovechamiento, ensilaje de maíz hojoso y ensilaje de pastura; una fuente de forraje secundaria seleccionada del grupo que consiste de ensilaje de maíz de doble aprovechamiento, henificación de alfalfa, heno seco de alfalfa, ensilaje de pastura y mezcla de alfalfa/pastura; una combinación de grano de maíz del grano de almidón de endosperma opaco/harinoso y vitreo/duro en la cual el maíz dentado normal o maíz cruzado se puede combinar con el fin de lograr un nivel predeterminado de digestibilidad de almidón in vitro; tal componente de grano combinado que es además procesado para producir un tamaño de partícula específico del almidón combinado. Una ración de alimento preparada de acuerdo con este método optimiza el ambiente rumial dentro de la vaca que consume la ración alimenticia para producir la estabilidad aumentada de producción de leche.
