Abstract

Un sistema basado en computadora para caracterizar en tiempo real los componentes nutricionales de uno o más ingredientes para una ración de alimento para rumiante, que incluye materia seca, NDF, NDFd, relación de NDF lignificada, por ciento de almidón, IVSD y tamaño de partícula para un material de forraje; e IVSD y tamaño de partícula para un material de grano. El sistema utiliza ecuaciones NIRS patentadas basadas en muestreos previos de una variedad de especies de cultivo similares a ensilaje de maíz de doble aprovechamiento, ensilaje de maíz hojoso, ensilaje de maíz de nervadura central parda ("BMR"), pastura (ensilaje/seca), alfalfa (ensilaje/seca), sorgo de forraje de BMR, grano de almidón dentado normal, grano de almidón de endosperma harinoso y grano de endosperma vítreo, y aplica esas ecuaciones a muestreos actuales de un cultivo correspondiente para predecir en tiempo real las características de tal material de forraje o de grano. El sistema de caracterización en tiempo real también puede utilizar los datos predichos para calcular un valor de "índice de fermentabilidad de la ración" que toma en cuenta las características totales de NDFd e IVSD (incluyendo RAS y RBS) de los ingredientes de forraje y de almidón para ser utilizado en una ración de alimento para asegurar que la ración no contribuirá a demasiada o muy poca digestibilidad a la vaca.
