Abstract

Una red de malla de salto múltiple puede conectarse a una Red de Area Local (LAN) utilizando un Puente de MAC. Uno o más nodos en la red de malla pueden configurarse como un nodo de puente que emplea un puente de MAC. Los paquetes que viajan entre estaciones en la LAN a nodos en la red de malla fluyen a través de uno de los nodos de puente en la red de malla. Los nodos de puente no reciben todos los paquetes en la red de malla, pero reciben los paquetes que se van a transmitir a través del puente de MAC. A medida que los nodos de puente aprenden de nuevas estaciones en la LAN, aconsejan rutas a los otros nodos dentro de la red de malla especificando cómo alcanzar esas estaciones.
