Todays Adventures...

Well I got started kinda early, and my first stop was traditional stop..
Kraznovian Franchise, they are everywhere spreading the joys of "Waffles"

I left there and headed to Lowes to take some stuff that I bought before Christmas and it didn't work and I wasn't dumb enough to take them back right after Christmas.  I than went Academy to make use of some gift cards and picked up ammo for my EBR and my new pistol.
Beretta Model 81 in 32 ACP.
I will be going to Mack's place of employment and running the pistol as well as the Hi Point Carbine that I bought late last year.  I also might bring a couple of long guns, I will see.
I am fixing to get started after stopping at another stop on my rounds.  The weather was cooperative, although windy and it even buffeted me a bit on my motorcycle.
I am back in the Garage, I had a bunch of stuff that I needed to get done today.   I then started getting ready to do an upgrade on my truck.
I proceeded to lay out the stuff for the new mod, I am installing a cold air intake on my F150
Here the truck is ready, I have already disconnected the battery, and placed the stepstool in case I needed it(I needed it, LOL)
Overall the instructions were clear, although the vehicle they used was set up differently than my truck.  It took a bit of ingenuity before I was finished.
The results after my taking the truck for a test drive was a bit quicker response than before.  With the truck breathing better, there is a bit of horsepower increase and perhaps a bit better fuel economy.  Although if one drives a truck, fuel economy is lower on the priority list.  I will get some more aluminum and see if I can enclose it a bit more.
My tools are home from work, so it made the mod easier to work, although my stuff is SAE and not metric.  The reason for this is that my employer has instituted total tool control, basically you can't use your own tools on the airplane.  The tools are issued by the employer and controlled.  This is an industry standard now.  We are not happy, we used our own tools, and knew how to use it.  Our maintenance record is far better than anybody else, our planes left earlier than scheduled, we had the lowest maintenance cancellations in the industry.  We were proud of that fact.  Apparently when other groups from overseas would visit, the shock of "they are using their own tools!, the Horror,!".   The tour guides which I am one of would just say "the system works for us, and our maintenance  record speaks for itself."  Our internal monologue would be "We are Americans, we have been to the moon, what the heck have y'all do? ride our coatails?, well screw off."  We would not say that of course, but that was the thought process,

Some goins on at Casa De Garabaldi

What messed with my schedule was that I had to work then travel on my "off days".  I spent a lot of time in my truck driving to Tennessee and to Florida.  My Dad was in the hospital again, he had his lung collapse for the 3rd time in less than a year. He has COPD, and it is from a combination of Agent Orange and smoking for 40 years.   Normally my Dad don't look his age, he is 75 but he looks much younger and these past 3 weeks he really looked his age.  I and my brother have spent a lot of time with him lately because he is our dad and he taught us how to be honorable men.

These pics I took a bit over a year ago.  His age is "indeterminate", to me he looks like he is in his mid 60's if that much.

My Dad bringing his bird "Indy" toward my phone
His Bird "Indy" trying to eat my phone...and that bird would chew it up if I let him get hold of it.
My Dad and my son shooting at the range a few years ago.

What I am getting at and this is hard is to see how mortal he looks, He has always have been strong, like a rock and with the attitude that "nothing will phase me".  I know that eventually he will pass beyond the rim, that is the truth of our existence but I do want him to see my son graduate from high school and be on the road of success.  This is part of the reason that I have been busy the past few weeks.

I have seen this picture on facebook and this has cropped up on some of the veterans groups that I am part of...
It to me speaks of my Dads generation.

I got the following video from a link from the Godfather A.K.A. Tom Kratman.

It is a story about an old veteran from the Great Patriotic war, the stages of his life when he was young and to his age now.  It is a short video about 7.30 minutes long It was powerful to me especially with the issues of my Dads health, I do see him and the other veterans in the face of this elderly soldier.

I also was working a project, as y'all know, I have a bull bar on my truck and I had an old set of fog lights that used to be on my Sport Trac that I had 15 years ago. I wanted to use but first I had to rebuild them....
I replaced the H3 bulbs
Used my battery box to test them after rebuilding them...
Yes they worked....

After completion, but they wound up not working on the bull bar, they are too long and stick out too much so I will put them on the shelf for another project down the line.  I wanted to post about this several weeks ago, but I was too busy and got overwhelmed by travel.

Supreme Court Judge passes on.....Also a new arrival at Casa de Garabaldi

Anthony Scalia, one of the most conservative Justices, and the biggest thorn in the side of the Obama Regime has passed one.   He was known as a strict constitutionalists and repeatedly wrote the dissenting opinion against the latest government overreach.  He was known as a critic of Obunglercare and fervently believed in the Constitution and what it meant as the founders had in mind rather than the "living document" that the liberals tried to push to justify the latest scheme to strip the people of autonomy and increase the power of the Federal Government.  The Democrats are already pushing for a replacement and they don't want to wait until the election.  They know that Obungler will immediately fill the spot with a far left liberal judge and skew the balance of power in the Supreme court.  I remember when a liberal Judge passes on, they insist on a person with the same viewpoint and political leanings.  But with a conservative judge...Obama will try to replace him with a liberal.  Remember obama only has a spine when fighting the GOP.  Supreme Court Justice Anthony Scalia...He will be missed by the conservative movement.

On a different note, my replacement for my disgruntled veterans Ranger showed up...I drove to South Carolina to look at the truck from a Ford Dealership.   I considered the price I paid a good price, for the trucks here in Atlanta were more expensive and had more mileage.

There are a few cosmetic things that I need to fix, but mechanically the truck seems solid.  I am glad to have an F150 again.  The last one I owned was my 1991 I bought in 1991 and sold it in 2001 when I got my Sport Trac.
