I honestly am really interested in having a convo with you on most of the stuff you've seen. I just finished Texhnolyze and I thought it was a really good show bogged down by pacing especially at the start which paid off by having an interesting synopsis covered in that art-sy way you described. Your reviews are well written and I even saw the same negative treatment for NHK. But then you recommend things like Evangelion which I thought was one of the weakest shows of all time. Not only from not knowing what tone to be including very weird and annoying slice of life scenes but also the non-existant development the characters go through. Seriously wasn't Asuka's whole shtick at the end is thtat it was all in her head and that her mother actually loved her? What was the point of it all? What's great about sitting through Asuka calling Shinji a baka like it's a 12 episode ecchi incest show? Or that Shinji can fall on Rei's chest with BOTH hands in a shhow that's trying to set a tone for it to be serious? Or the fact it has 15 episodes of the same thing happening - an angel appears , they fight , lose , regroup, fight , win.

I seriously don't get your complain about Texhnolyze being too same-ish and nothing that unique when Evangelion is quite literally that. Not even going to mention Watamote's glaze because yes I can understand people relating to Watamote for not being able to communicate but no one goes through what she goes in a much worse sense. I reckon the manga pretty much became a yuri at some point.

Your "Welcome to the NHK" review is excellent, one of the best, most insightful MAL reviews I have ever read. It baffles me that it has such a high MAL score while WataMote has such a low one, it should be the total opposite. WataMote gets crap for "making fun of otaku" even though it doesn't, it understands what it means to be an outcast; yet NHK is absolutely condescending drivel that mocks NEETs yet gets praised for it. The show blatantly feels like a PSA by the Japanese government to browbeat NEETs and guilt-trip them into no longer being NEETs, and treats it as if it's all your own fault and you should just "go outside"; zero empathy or understanding whatsoever. It's definitely one of the most pretentious anime ever and it actively despises its audience, who weirdly eat it up, not realizing they're actively being insulted, laughed at, and brainwashed by the show. Meanwhile they get triggered by WataMote which genuinely understands them and their perspective infinitely better, lol. MAL has absolutely no taste, but I'm glad you do.

Sorry pal but gotta say the whole point of the story went over your head; Satou has no destined goals, but in retrospection, humans don't need one. How come I defend this anime? I saw a haunting reflection in it. Yes, shy, delusional, paranoid. I took a break for a year, cooped up at home, feeling like the most miserable creature to bear with.

But on the other hand, this anime gives a chance to redemption. You don't have to be a knight in shining armor to define your swordsmanship. Satou, in the end, gets one of his paranoid countenance patched up, has a job and a friend, he is visibly happy with the proceedings. Tempus Fugit, that is how life rolls by. If ya feel like the Brain in a jar, maybe give Dostoyevsky and Camus a shot, you'll see
