Agreed. It's always nice and refreshing to see shounen protagonists evolve beyond how they were originally introduced. A more nuanced main character makes the whole show better and often elevates the supporting cast (side characters or even antagonists) as well, since they have to keep up somehow, haha.

I don't mind fairly simple characters, of course. However, I'll admit I didn’t really like Eren in the early seasons - he was fine, but mostly came across as your typical "vengeful protagonist with itchy feet" (well, but to be fair, who wouldn't be after seeing that kind of atrocious attack on their own hometown?) The later seasons, especially Season 4, really improved his character. Not that I liked what he did - far from it! I hated his actions, but at the same time, they pushed the story in unexpected directions that made the show a lot more interesting to watch (even though it was already fun and filled to the brim with mysteries and all). ;p

Yup, I still haven't lost hope of seeing another season of Chihayafuru. I've really enjoyed all the seasons released so far. As for Attack on Titan, it's one of my favorite animanga franchises. ;)

When it comes to scores, I have my own way of rating anime and manga—but I can be pretty harsh sometimes too, haha. I try to focus on more objective criteria, though subjectivity does sneak in now and then and can influence the final score... both in a positive or a negative way. ;p

Now that you mention it, I think I saw it at least once somewhere on the Internet, long ago... At least the one you have feels somewhat familiar and follows the same idea (gif with smooth transitions featuring various franchises). :)

I feel so strongly negative about it because it destroyed any chances to see a Violence Jack reboot (also made by Go Nagai).
Watch the original 1972 Devilman and compare with the Netflix reboot.
Netflix became notorius for ruining classic anime nowdays.
