I'm big in Japan.

Not surprised Israel would be one of the earliest, but Lightning Bugs were used as early as 1964 for reconnaissance in Vietnam. Of course, here is an article where they claim to be the first. Aside from this toy piece of crap here, they also apparently used Firebees from the U.S. Both of these professional drones were created by Ryan Aeronautical.

Nothing older comes to mind for anime or anything else, but I'd guess you'd find another older one eventually if you dug through sci-fi series.

These are "noble lies" to control and direct their population, so I agree that it's not just for the sake of it, with much of it also being recycled from other cultures or taking old ideas and inverting them. I've never exactly been sold on or too concerned with the idea of axial age, so I dunno what to make of that. I guess? XD People have been feuding over the same repackaged ideas over and over, though, and most "progress" has been technological, sure. I reckon the first real use of controlled drones in warfare would have been Vietnam, but maybe it depends on what you mean exactly. I haven't seen Dancougar, but what is the oldest version? 1980s? There must have been something older. Probably even OG Gundam had some, but I'll bet there were plenty of other military and sci-fi shows with drones before that.

I didn't notice that you added an extra paragraph to your message until now. The reason I mock prophecy and will continue to do so is because it's made up nonsense, and I don't like how Christianity and (foreign) prophecy influences policy in my country. There are no good "answers" to be found from that tripe. That, of course, doesn't change that it's a tool allowing one to lead people by the nose and even make reality align with prophecy (at least parts of it) if you have the power and will to do so, as the Abrahamic cults demonstrate. It's along the lines of that term hyperstition.

Yeah, I've known about this for a while. You can find Purim references or connections with a lot of key events pertaining to Israel in the Middle East. Same with the Nuremberg Trials. Starting with the recent war, I've seen Jewish/Israeli accounts making Purim references on places like Twitter too. I thought it was pretty funny watching Clevatess from the season before, as that is obviously referencing the Torah, calling an important scripture of a small kingdom the "book of Toah" or something like that. And there was talk about racial purity (the ones who have pink hair are purer), and they are "chosen" in the sense that they have esoteric knowledge and can forge extremely powerful weapons, and all geopolitics seem to revolve around them because of these weapons they create.

Ah, it looks like you recently watched and enjoyed it. Nice. The Shadow Skill movie was one of the earliest anime I saw on DVD and the series expanded and improved upon it in most ways. There are a lot of things people could potentially complain about, but I really enjoyed the core story of martial arts in a fantasy world as well as the strong attention given to each characters' relationships with one another. It's rare for a male author to give the extra attention to the subtext and undertones of relationships.

It's a shame that the manga still hasn't received a full English translation since the show left quite a few plotlines unresolved.

They should have just sticked to one thing. They tried to make a summary and an alternative setting together. Neither were executed properly, don't you agree? Also, what should I start first, Dunbine, Gundam or The Irresponsible Captain Taylor?

Much obliged. I am inclined to complete something if I start it.

I see that you are a man of culture as well based on your profile.

Ооо, Taiyou no Hou: El Cantare e no Michi! Пропагандата на Happy Science?
It’s time to ditch the text file.
