Hmmm honestly that would be something that I have to look into. Off the top of my head though I do recall that I own a shell from a musket that was supposedly from the 1700s I believe. My great-grandfather owned it and somehow it came into my dad's possession, which now I have. I also acquired some arrowheads in the past that I still own, though I'm not sure what era they're from. That's actually really awesome, I too love hearing about historical fines like that. Are the pages of those 1800s magazines extremely brittle by now?

Not recently, unfortunately. It's been a while since I played any video games, or watched any anime. I'll have to start watching or playing something soon, lol.

Possibly so. From my point of view on the internet, it seems like people are just losing interest in traditional social media websites. My Facebook for instance I would estimate only has like half the people on my friends list who even bother visiting the website anymore. Not sure if they moved to other websites, are under different usernames or maybe just don't care to be on the internet in that way anymore and have moved on.

I wonder why discord became so popular. I guess it's because it's basically just a glorified forum for people can make chats about anything. I honestly never understood it's popularity. 🤷‍♂️

I see. So it sounds like your situation with this website was kind of similar to mine. I think it was around 2017 that I started to lose interest in MAL, and would only log in like once a year or so after that. Then once 2019 hit I stopped logging in all together. I don't know, then around 2024 I started feeling nostalgic for this place, that and the fact that I was starting to watch anime a little bit more at that point. So I decided to check out the site and see what was new. I really do like the new profile badges they implemented. I was really sad to see that so many people that I used to talk to on this website seem to have completely abandoned the website. Also for some reason there was a lot of people posting rip on people's profiles who hadn't logged in in a long time. XD

Oh interesting, I bet that really kept you busy during the covid era. Since you are well versed in this area, do you happen to know are we still required to take booster shots? I don't hear many people talk in about it anymore so I always wondered.

That could be part of it I agree. I think it also comes down to the fact that traditional forums just aren't as popular. I heard of another website called Annie list that people say is better than MAL. Hey and speaking of covid I've been curious, did you log into MAL during that era? I never did, so I was wondering if the site was booming during that era. I assume it was.

Yes I did make a discord finally, but I hardly ever use it. XD are you big into it?

Well I'm very happy to hear you've been keeping well. Sounds like you're quite the busy bee these days. What kind of odd jobs have you been doing if you don't mind me asking? I know it can be hard to find your niche sometimes. Maybe something related to one of your hobbies might make a good career. That's what I did when it came to cooking.

Yeah my anime watching has slowed down considerably since back in the day. I still try to find time to watch when I can though. Speaking of time, one thing I couldn't help but notice when I returned to MAL was just how much slower the activity on this website has become. Especially compared to the old days. Makes me wonder if places such as discord have really killed traditional forums like this.

Coolspot!!!! Bro yes I remember you, it's really been some years! Yeah I took a pretty long anime hiatus there for a while, and only returned back to this website recently last year. I'm really glad to see there are still some old school members left who still log in. How have you been buddy? :)
