"Thus, a committed relationship between Kyousuke and Kirino would inevitably cause more pain in the long run."
- How so? Because of incest? Social pressure? -.- Incestuous relationship is possible, and it seems like the author had intended on doing it, but her/his publisher asked her not to, thus we get this kind of ending.
You seems to rate OreImo special a 10/10, which means perfect execution, perfect story, perfect OST, perfect animation, perfect characterization and perfect enjoyment? The last 3 specials are bad. Have you ever wondered how many confession Kyousuke received in just 3 episodes? How many broken hearts? Realistically speaking it's even impossible. It just seems like the author/producer wanted to put an end to all this and just rushed through all the confessions and rejections.
"Like many real life struggles, a happily-ever-after was impossible, and the situation seemed hopeless."
Lol you think so? Did you even watch the show? They were happy enough before the SHOCKING reveal, no? Yeah they have to go through some hurdle if they want to continue their relationship, but heck, they took an easy way out bro. IT IS NOT IMPOSSIBLE.
"It's a story of the balance between society and individuality, between fantasy and reality."
You're speaking as if incest only happens in FANTASY.
Oh and one more thing. Kyousuke's feelings for Kirino never felt romantic for me, not until they started dating. He had been helping her from day one, does that mean he has been in love with her from day one? ~.~
Love the ACCURATE review. I thought that it would be the most reasonable ending for the Anime, just that I didn't have the guts to write a review, or maybe I wasn't articulate enough. Anyways, I wouldn't give it a 10 but I would agree that it was the best ending for the Anime =))
