Synopsis

Kamijou is the envy of all of his coworkers. At the office, he can solve any problem. Outside, he is chased by every girl under the sun. Kamijou, however, only has eyes for one girl: Xianglan, a Chinese immigrant who works as a waitress in the local Chinese restaurant. She can't see him as anything other than a customer, and her lack of fluency in Japanese prevents her from understanding him. Will Kamijou manage to woo Xianglan, or is he forever fated to fail?

China Girl is a little story about a guy (Kamijou) who suddenly falls for the foreign waitress of a local restaurant (Xianglan), and his quest to overcome the barrier of language and culture in the name of love.

I really liked this manga. It's nothing you won't have already seen somewhere else, mind you, but it's short enough for the story to not get stale or boring. If you're reading this to check if you should read it or not, I'll save you some time and tell you to do it. It's only 9 chapters, so it won't take you much longer than an hour to ...

This manga is so bad that I needed to write a review explaining why pretty much as soon as I finished it, just to get it out of my system. No major spoilers.

Even without knowing that the ending was rushed, the whole premise is poorly thought out and executed. This guy (Kamijou), who apparently has no trouble finding women, has rejected all of them because he wants absolute perfection in a woman. And decides he's found it...in a young Chinese cook/waitress (Xianglan) whom he hasn't even spoken to and whose name he doesn't even know.
