Synopsis

When erotic novelist Haruka Enomura and shojo artist Miruku Nakata are brought together by their publisher to collaborate on a new manga, it seems like a perfect match—until the two meet in person and realize just how different they are! Haruka is a bit of a sadist with a cool-guy personality, and he immediately clashes with Miruku, who's something of a masochist and doesn't match his bright shojo style at all. There's one thing the two have in common, however—their love of gourmet food, especially the mail-order variety. Can their passion for amazing food bridge the gap between them? Or could food be the catalyst that causes their passions to boil over?

BackgroundSensei no Otoriyose was adapted into a live-action TV drama series which aired for 12 episodes from April 9, 2022 to June 25, 2022. The series was published in English as Sensei's Mail-Order Food by Seven Seas Entertainment as a 2-in-1 omnibus on October 14, 2025.

if you're like me and got a physical copy of this, be aware that despite the fact "BL" and "boy's love" are plastered literally all over the covers, it is not a BL (interesting to see that MAL (accurately) doesn't list it as such). i don't know why on earth they decided to advertise it this way when the two mains do not even flirt, and constantly talk about their lack of relationships with women, and their preferences in women. and never get together. is it still fun and lighthearted and unique with the swapping between formats? definitely. but being really mislead by the cover ...
