It starts off strong but over time the protagonist sadly develops strong symptoms of what I like calling Hero Syndrom where he pretty much tries to save everyone that is within his reach and not obviously, for sure, 100% evil while of course sacrificing himself/putting himself in harms way in some way. And of course the author decides to actually let all efforts end in a positive ending with almost no setbacks for the protagonist.
It is interesting with some nice plot twists that still make it worth reading but it is still sad that a not 100% generic prota ends up in the same pattern
...
as always...
[spoiler follows]
Additionally the work definitely should have the harem tag...
While the protagonist struggles whether he should stay true to his japanese values regarding love, he accepts several partners pretty fast. Pretty much snowballing from this ALL companions are written to become his "special" partners (at the point of the story where I write this, not all are fulfilled yet, but except the 10 years old (THANK YOU for that at least) are (more than) strongly suggested to have feelings) . Most of them are explained in a kinda understandable way even though everything ending in love is still over the top imo. However, doing this even with the magical puppet which is supposed to be the incarnation of loyalty and is written to not know her own feelings but pushed by everyone that she HAS to love him, just feels forced to fulfill the harem...
[spoiler end]
Overall, nice idea but the execution is just questionable because it makes devolve into just another generic Isekai Harem LN with few extra elements. So far it is a big bonus, that the protagonist has not suddenly gained a OP power which keeps up with everyone, still making him struggle through everything.
