it's okaay, finally we approached the finale, as i expected it will be about Spike's past, particularly i wasn't wrong

And only i know i decided to check "next session" after credits just for fun(i mean, the last "next session" scene) that i i'd been always skipping TILL NOW, i've only NOW realised that there are no spoilers at the end like in Desu Noto or in Kodo Giasu(code geass), dammit.

There are just some funny words out of VA's and that's it, ohmaigaaaat

### **Cowboy Bebop - Episode 25: The Storm Before the End**

It’s all crashing down. No jokes, no distractions—just **Spike’s past finally catching up to him.**

The Bebop is a ghost ship now. **Jet is alone, cooking for no one.** Faye is there, but she knows it’s over. And Spike? He’s already dead inside. **When Julia calls, it’s not hope—it’s fate.**

Julia is no longer just a memory; she’s real, but reality is cruel. **The reunion is brief, suffocating, and drenched in gunfire.** All these years apart, and they don’t get a future—just an ending.

Vicious is waiting. The Syndicate is tearing itself apart. The past is inescapable. **Even Faye, who finally realized what “home” meant, is powerless to stop Spike from leaving.**

That final conversation between them? **Pure pain.**

> *"Why do you have to go?"*
> *"I'm not going there to die. I'm going there to see if I’m really alive."*

Spike has been walking dead for so long that the only way to know if he’s truly alive is to stare death in the face one last time.

This isn’t just the penultimate episode—it’s the final countdown. **The story isn’t about survival anymore. It’s about closure.**

A Cowboy Bebop episode that's not a self-contained story?! Impossible. ;D

Jokes aside, it's nice to see the main plot's comeback.

That aerial fight looked fantastic. Great animation and choreography. Heck, all scenes in this episode were of high quality.

What an episode, too many revelations, now almost all of the flashbacks make sense. Julia appears and Faye is back, will Ed return in the last episode? I don't think so. We finally see who rules the cartel and I thought Vicious really was going to be executed, that would be so great but as expected he won't let himself die too easily. The reunion of Julia and Spike and she is pointing at him? What is she planning? And with Vicious at the power what is he going to do? The next episode has to be the best.

I find that Bebop is its best when being episodic, without focusing too much in a single plot point to move the story. I can't seem to enjoy these episodes about Spike's past as much as I wanted to. Basically, because:

There is a fine line between being cryptic and not telling us anything substantial about this and that. And that's how I feel about Vicious, Julia, and the Syndicate... It's hard for me to care about them when I know little to nothing about them. I have zero idea about what the syndicate is or what do they wish accomplish, I don't care much for Vicious, and Julia just seems, to me, like a generic femme fatale kind of girl, which I've seen a million times already so it's kinda boring.

+1

Totally agree with what's said here.

This is it, the episode/arc that rivals The Ballad of Fallen Angels in greatness.

Julia was the one who shot Spike in the past as the only way out of certain death. Also, it seems that Julia was with Vicious in the beginning and that Spike met her while in the syndicate.

The way the current arc goes, side by side with the past unveiling itself is pure brilliance. Vicious took out the elders and claimed the leader position for himself and he will most certainly want to tie the lose ends, Julia and Spike.

Great interactions between all the characters, even more phenomenal dialogue and mad action scenes,

To Be Continued
@Veethorn Julia never shot Spike in the past. In fact, she was actually protecting him.

“Julia was once Vicious' lover, but Spike and Julia ended up falling in love. Spike planned to leave the Red Dragons with Julia, but his plans were discovered by Vicious, who ordered Julia to kill Spike. She disobeys his orders and had to live on the run from the Red Dragons.”

so how did julia know that faye knew spike?

did she even know that spike was a bounty hunter.

i guess it was inferred by the cowboy whatever episode that spike was well known.
@josofo "Julia encounters Faye as she's being chased by Red Dragon flunkies. It may look like Julia had planned this meeting, but it was total coincidence, and, as it turns out, serendipitous. Julia had heard Faye's name from Shin." -Cowboy Bebop Guide, Book 6, Page 40

Vicious has taken over the Red Dragon, and Julia is about to shoot Spike. I can’t see any way for the show to avoid killing Julia next episode. I’m really hoping I’m wrong.
