Now we can put aside all pretenses, you may address me as you would a commoner (though I am not), let's get down to the nitty gritty. When I heard funi was dubbing this I was curious despite the fact that I vowed to never go back I had to check it out for a few minutes. The result is exactly what you think, absolute shit. There were no jokes to translate over, so now you can see how bad this show really is when there are no inflections or sharp constants like there would be in the japanese language It is cringe inducing. Funi made a mistake with this one, when they redubbed Sgt. Frog, there was ample working material that they could have utilized in their ADR script. That's why it worked out so well despite not being a hit with the audience. This garbage on the other hand has nothing going for it. This show will be Funi's biggest bomb of all time. |

| In my opinion, Funi could've done a lot more with the script and do their own spin on it. Panty and Stocking is one of the best examples of that. Here, it feels like they went by the book aside from a few jokes. Pop Team Epic is pretty much crack in an anime form, so a lot of ad-libbing is the bread and butter here. Episode 2 really stands out, since in the original, the VAs were live action and had to ad-lib. In the dub however, they dubbed the lines over. That could've been done in their own studio with their VAs. Bottom line, Funi really screwed this one up. The dub, sadly, isn't really worth it. |

That's not a curveball at all considering that's not their own twist, the series already has men voicing the main two characters in half of it's episode. It's not something they deserve credit for. As to the actual topic, I have not watched the dub, but I just can't see it working. All the different voice actors and actresses per episode is itself another gag part of this series. It doesn't work in English unless they got the really popular and well known English voice actors, but even then they'd run out by episode 3 because English voice actors are far harder to differentiate. It's not like I hate them for doing this, or that it exists, but it baffles me that they didn't pick something else to actually spend time and effort into. |

| The dub is pretty bad yeah. The voice acting is good but it's so uninspired in every other area. |

| Pretty meh in the beginning. Fortunately, they've found their footing by realizing they're supposed to adlib and not just copy the words 1:1 from the Crunchyroll translation. |

Hopefully they will change the voice actors for each episode like they do in the original. At first I didn't know it was Justin until Popuko started freaking out and I was like "oh yep, sounds like deku *lmao*" Gread dub. Comedies like this work well in this form. And Chris Sabat also is a +++++. |
