School Days

High school student Makoto Itou first notices Kotonoha Katsura at the start of his second semester, freshman year. Immediately, he becomes entranced by her beauty, but his bashfulness doesn't allow him to approach her, even though they ride the same train every day. Instead, he snaps a photo of her in secret and sets it as his cell phone's wallpaper: a charm that, if kept under wraps, would supposedly help you realize your love. However, classmate Sekai Saionji spots the picture, but instead of ratting him out, she offers to help set him up with Kotonoha—going so far as befriending her just for him. Thus, the trio begins a rather impromptu friendship.

School Days follows the lives of these three teenagers as they traverse the joys and hardships that come with being a high schooler. In a story alive and brimming with romance and melancholy, the tale of these three students will linger in memory long after the momentous conclusion.

This show is what a harem would actually be like: broken hearts, lasting consequences and huge self-doubt are created by Makoto for keeping strings attached with so many girls.

It’s a hard watch, but not in a bad way. The show immediately let us know Makoto is not a good person and you get a feeling it’s not gonna bite him in the ass later. The characters pain is not necessarily relatable, but understandable the way the show presents it. While their decisions are guided by their feelings, their pain is well rounded.

It’s a show that grabs your attention and you’re curious where it’s ... going. It’s a show about lust, attention, mental instability, cheating, bullying and trust.

Mixed Feelings

First off: The show is actually really good, until you get to the last episode, which is so bad it should be illegal.
Not going to spoil it, but that is exactly what kind of show this is, unfortunately. Good until it gets really bad, and stays bad in your memory forever.

Until then, you have a nice balance of school relationship drama and fanservice/ecchi. These parts of the show are actually pretty good which is part of what makes the ending so bad.

Again, listen to all the people telling you the ending mega-sucks and just cut it short before episode 12. Your life will be greatly ... improved this way, I promise.

Dude the only thing that made me watch this fucking bullshit is my friend, we were watching it episode after episode after school. and holy fuck dude this anime is made full of sluts and idiots, a fucking shitty written main character that's an idiot and can't decide well between a hot shy girl (Katsura) and a skinny flat chested idiot (Sekai) holy fucking shit is this guy even serious? and the side characters are so bland and repetitive it got to a point that I literally predicted the whole writing for these characters. Only the ending made the anime a little bit better.
