How does your game meet GBJam's theme?
The main character overslept and now has to run to be able to reach the school in time while avoiding all the stuff in the path

Awfully cute, this was a blast to play, short and sweet, great job! I had a lot of fun and it felt good to just get lost in the flow and have a full tunnel vision focused on every obstacle that might come my way :D

Also, now I hate cats.

But thank you so much! I hope this was fun for you :D

Simply amazing.

This was pure magic to play! The art style and audio I agree with some of the others here that readability was a bit of a challenge for items far out/down the road, but that didn't stop me from needing to replay this one a few times. Thanks for making and sharing your game!

Absolutely gorgeous game, a 3D setting with the GB color palette and resolution looks great. The song is also extremely catchy, really well done on the music front.

Echoing other reviews, due to the limited color palette it is difficult to see what's coming up on the road. I think if the run speed was a little slower, it would help with that.

The whole thing just oozes character and the color palette selection is right on the nose for the experience.

I would have liked to have some stronger use of either the pink or the white to highlight things in the path as good/bad so that players could have just that much more warning and agency in how to react to things. A lot of the objects quickly blur into "just more pink things" when the speed really ramps up as it is right now.

Overall an awesome entry with a true focus on fun and execution.

Excellent work! The graphics and sound are great, and the gameplay is simple yet fun. I did have some trouble reading what was coming up, but I was able to beat it on my 2nd attempt. That’s really my only complaint - gameplay was smooth, controls were crisp, just a great entry all around. I also appreciated that the unlucky mechanic wasn’t just a dice roll. The cats were avoidable, impactful and very much on theme.

This is so cool! Did you write the engine? I love how the road turns using that scanline trick with math!

The game looks really great and the sound fits perfectly, I had a lot of fun.

Love the art style and the 3D effect, it works really well ! The music is great, and the game works great.
Nicely scopped, polished and executed game jam ! Congratz !

That was quite fun! Stylish, challenging, yet simple; the 3D effect looks phenomenal. The song has a positive, relaxing tone for such a frantic game!

The music is a little bit loud; it makes it especially difficult to hear the audio cue for the cat sections.

All-in-all, fantastic! Great work!

I love the retro look! Reminds me of the Outrun game series from SEGA. Nicely done!

A bit challenging at times to fully see what's coming, but nonetheless very fun and a great rendition of this old school kind of fake 3d effect

Simple gameplay and fun concept, but hard to beat it. also good music

I was always terrible at getting those chaos emeralds as a kid. Never got better at them I guess! I tripped over so many roadblocks it's not even funny. Game was fun and reminded me of playing gamegear (oh no, I'm old, 35 years ago!?!?!) but with a GB spin. Nice job and great music!

Reminiscent of the old sonic 3d mini games. The cat I thought was a power up to start with until I found out I couldn't jump. Bummer. I'd say that something like this wouldn't be seen on gameboy, but Outrun recently got released on a gbc. So, who knows. Very fun and responsive game. Good job :)

Fantastic music and art! Also: I didn’t realize LÖVE could do web builds, neat. Fun, fast, and snappy. 3D is a big departure from typical GB games, but part of the fun of jams like this is being able to take some technical limitations or specific aesthetics, and then work that into something new and interesting, and I’d say you guys did that very well! Kudos.

all i can say is, its a good job i spent so many hours getting chaos emeralds in sonic 2 as a child!
looks fantastic. a little on the fast side perhaps (remember human reaction time is about half a second) nice work!

pallet swap button is nice too (we were thinking about doing that on our game but ran out of time)
