The pixel art is great, and the music was pretty good! The way to do things was a little unclear, and the theme was not linked in an obvious way. Lots of potential though.
Unfortunately a bit too buggy to be able to play as intended. The art is nice. I didn't really know where to take the poop or what to feed the skrunkles, so I may have made some immoral decisions.
Mission really nailed it, maybe not quite GB capable stuff, but it's still very pretty.
Graphics too, pretty stuff.
Gameplay however has some glaring issues. Picking up several things makes then unable to be dropped, so now I'm just permanently carrying shit. And food, because the store is pretty far relatively speaking when you can only carry exactly one thing. Also, please, mister skrunkle, don't block my path.
It's absolutely cute! The palette and music reallly sell the ambience, kinda like being in a dreamy cottage, where you aren't sure everything you're doing is real. The fact I didn't understand the controls much and spent my entire time feeding poop to poor shelter animals really sold me on the theory that this was a dream-like state and like in dreams sometimes you just can't control what you're doing xD
But yeah no, the ambiance is there, and there is a clear intention about the vibe, and that's great :D
