Haha this definitely gave me a good chuckle. Well done piece, fun to play, just the right length for a jam game and pretty funny. I like the artwork, the use of palette changes for different areas and the alternating music. Very well done.
Charming game and great writing!
The graphics and music are good, With the gameplay, I was only able to got stuck with the shoe situation, I could see based on the dialogue what needed to be done, I have spoken and offered money to both vendors but I couldnt find a way to progress. I may come back to revisit but decent from what I was able to play so far.
Thank you so much for playing our game! From what you described, I think you might need to talk to the grandmother at that point. Just in case, here’s a checklist that allows you to finish the game:
Wow, this is beautiful… even the small animations are super impressive for just a few days, and then also two languages — great, simply awesome!!!
That was quite charming! The art is exceptional, the soundtrack is fun, and the mechanics are competently implemented. Great work!
this game was such a wild and strange experience. The presentation was really well done with all the bits of animation and all of the cinematics/cutscenes. I especially appreciated the increased walking speed when outside of buildings.
I find it funny that you used "wild" to describe the experience, it makes me really happy that you can feel something like that while playing the game! The increased walking speed at the beginning was a debug feature to test things faster, but I remembered how tedious walking through endless environments can be in this type of game, so I thought it would be a good idea to keep it to make the gameplay more dynamic. Thank you so much for your comment and for playing our game!
This game is so detailed and visually appealing! Right from the beginning, I liked the option to change the language and the small tutorial. This was perfect for the limited time one has to try out all the games, without spending too much time figuring out the controls! Thank you very much for this experience!
I’m glad you liked it that much! It’s in two languages since most of my friends speak Spanish. I also thought having the tutorial within the dialogues was kind of funny, and I’ll probably use that again in future jam games since it feels effective and not intrusive.
That was a fun game, just the right length for a jam game. Nice graphics and music, very GameBoy-reminiscent. Good job :)
Thanks for playing the game! I wasn’t sure if it might feel a bit long, but I’m glad to hear the length worked out well :)
Very nice game. I loved the story and the little jokes. Nice effect with the music changes outside/inside. Well done.
I'm glad you liked it! Since I originally wrote the story in Spanish, I was worried that the charm would get lost in translation, but I'm happy to hear it still turned out funny!
You guys made quite the charming game! :> It was a lot of fun. The dialog is peak as well! It was really funny seeing all the alternate text and references that were fit in.
Thank you very much for your comment! I'm really happy that players interact with objects even if it's not necessary to complete the game. We wanted to create that curiosity about what dialogue they would encounter
Of course! Y'all did a great job at that. You really captured that rpg-exploring-dialog feel.
Nice game! Jokes were chuckle-worthy ("this is my favourite fridge" made me smile more than it realisistically should have) and pacing was overall well-done. As far as "gameplay" goes it was pretty minimal, but that's not necessarily a bad thing. I guess for nitpicks I think adding in some more sounds (e.g. for item switching) wouldn't have gone amiss. Is PhantomCamera a good Godot plugin?
Thanks a lot for playing the game! We really appreciate your feedback. About the sounds: our sound designer actually joined the project quite late (mostly because we contacted him a bit late), so we couldn’t get all the audio work we originally wanted. And yes, PhantomCamera is an excellent Godot Plugin, with great documentation, you can check it out here: https://phantom-camera.dev/
I love the humor and art style of the game. I also enjoyed that the music was dynamic based on where you were. I really enjoyed just walking around and talking to things because there was always something funny happening. Great job!
Thank you so much for your comment! I'm so glad you liked the dynamic music detail. I love when games do that and I try to make sure my games also give that feeling of "quality." Our team's musician did an incredible job making it happen!
I love the art style, very distinct!
And the writing was really fun, you packed a lot of content in such a short time, congrats!
Thank you so much for your kind words! I'm really glad you enjoyed the art style. I put a lot of effort into it to create something unique :D
Cute little game! And impressive amount of dialog for a jam project. Keep it up!
So cool you played our game! Your shader literally solved a critical problem for us, so thank you a million times over. It means a lot that you got to play it!
Hah, I love finding people using my shader in the wild! I'm happy to hear y'all found it useful!
Really cute! I love the humor. I did get stuck and lose my money though, so I don't think I progress very far... Do I give the cat to the person first, or try to buy something first?
The game should be solvable regardless of the order in which you do certain actions, but there might be a bug that we haven't found yet. If so, we apologize.
One order that works is:
Thank you! I'm going to try again! :)
Really silly game. Love the art style and the way it played.
Ending gave me a good chuckle too.
Thanks! I'm glad you liked it!
