Prohibited Merchant Category Codes

ConnexPay periodically performs risk assessments to ensure the company is operating within our risk appetite tolerances. Merchant Category Codes (MCC) are used in identifying business types and their corresponding risk levels. ConnexPay has identified certain MCCs as prohibited due to a combination of high-risk ratings primarily driven by fraud, disputes, and reputational risk exposure.

There are certain Merchant Category Codes (MCCs) that are prohibited for purchase for all of our customers.

6050 Quasi Cash — Member Financial Institution
6010 Financial Institutions – Manual Cash Disbursements

6051 Non-Financial Institutions – Foreign Currency, Non-Fiat Currency (for example: Cryptocurrency), Money Orders (Not Money Transfer), Travelers Cheques, and Debt Repayment
