It was 'free' money, which is nice. But it doesn't work like a normal gift card, you can't use it to partially pay for something more than the gift card total (if you have $100 from Akimbo, you can't use it to reduce your total on $110 worth of goods)

MoneyGram has better tech and fees than Western Union - their website and app never work for me and their fees for electronic payments were so high, we used to have to go in person to send transfers.

I have been using mobile recharge for years to send phone credit to my family in Haiti. I think in all that time I've only had two hiccups due to glitches or slow internet. The company is always quick to resolve my issues and it seems impossible to make a drastic error by sending to a number that does not match the phone company.

If you make a mistake (like choosing the wrong carrier, like I recently did), you do not get charged and the customer service is very responsive. 10/10, often do recommend!

I like that site confirms that the number you have matches with the phone company (Digicel or Natcom in the case of Haiti) so that I don't get stuck sending minutes to the wrong one.

This website really helps me help those that are most important to me stay connected. I appreciate that it allows you to save contacts so I don't have to keep looking up their numbers.
