Valvira’s senior inspector, head of unit and managing director all received fines for negligence in their official duties.

The prosecutor successfully argued that they should have looked more closely at the credentials of two men claiming to be doctors, especially as they had been informed of suspicions over their qualifications.

The defendants claimed that accreditation process in the case of the two fake doctors failed because of an excessively heavy workload at supervisory authority.
