Playing through Veilguard again, and I can't believe it took me until this run to remember/notice/screenshot that in the fight with Anaris, he has different taunts according to Rook's race. Interesting!
Here's for elves:
I think you could be forgiven for not especially noticing this, since Bellara is also there and this could have been directed at her.
Here's what he says to humans:
"Mistake" is an interesting choice of words here. Whose mistake?
And Qunari:
Okay, this dude has some strong feelings about the Qunari. Probably has to do with the fact that he is tied to/afraid of the devouring storm, which implies some situational adjacency to the Qunari? I don't know what the timeline is for him to have knowledge or involvement with them (since I think the banishment of the Forgotten Ones to the void happened well before the Qunari were a thing, so it stands to reason that Anaris would've have been in Forgotten One timeout well before the Qunari came to be?)
Edit: Oh gee golly, unless this is a hint that the devouring storm IS the void??
Mythal confirms that Qunari are relatively new, in the history of the world.
Anyway if anyone has what Anaris says to a dwarven Rook, I'd be curious! I bet it's savage!
I'm at a :.|:; for words.
The purpose of life is to get really into stories that drive you so crazy you sometimes feel the need to throw up from how much you love them

I think about this screenshot every single day
well have you considered that maybe the unstoppable force is in love with the immovable object
maybe the reason one refuses to stop and the other refuses to move is because they both long for the collision
Girls be like "it's my comfort episode" but what it really is is their favourite character having a horrific time
