This is one of my favorite children's series of all time. The locations, sets, special effects are excellent. This second series of Spellbinders is even better than the first. A teenage girl from the Northern Beaches of Sydney, Australia and her family trip between parallel worlds having incredible adventures.
The worlds include that of the Dragon Lord, The Mechanicals and a parallel Sydney Australia.
Excellent locations in Sydney, China and Poland. Great cast of Australian and international actors. Sydney looks beautiful with such locations as Manly and what appears to be Narrabeen.
I enjoyed watching this series with my children and eventually watched the first series when it was repeated. I would like to get the second series on DVD when it is available.
If you like Spellbinders you will also like the Australian/New Zealand series of "Mirror Mirror"

According to Buddhism, There are 16 No of parallel worlds for human, 09 for heaven, 06 for Hell. When I see this story, I always remember it.
After so many years it is still highly watchable, adequately exciting. Almost all of the cast members show great talent, with Ashka being the most dazzling as expected. I don't know what it is about her, but when she screams out orders, you just want to obey after saying yes m'am, LOL.
I like the multiple universes being introduced this time, compared to the first season where only two parallel worlds were crossed. The one with the mechanicals is especially interesting. Be that as it may, I am a bit underwhelmed by the "Chinese" world they have created. Perhaps if they had chosen to use mandarin with subtitles, or translator, it would have felt more convincing.
Also, Ryan Kwanten is such an eye candy with that baby face. I wanted to squeeze his cheeks the entire time because he is that adorable.
I'm glad they chose to retain the soundtrack. It is rather iconic, evoking a sense of nostalgia, adventure, and tension.

I absolutely loved season 1, but season 2 was far too long.
The first 10-12 episodes were good, albiet a little slow, but it starts to get a little convoluted and hard to follow. It would have worked much tighter as a 13 episode season rather than pad out 26 episodes with nonsensical stories and immature side plots. Meanwhile, other aspects that should be explained in more detail are simply overlooked.
It had such a promising cast including Heather Mitchell, Peter O'Brien, well-known child actor Lauren Hewitt and future superstar Ryan Kwanten, but this series is by no means the best work of any of them.

I'm totally disappointed in this series. I was hoping to see at least half of the original cast, especially Paul, but nope... doesn't happen in this season 2! Season 2 now also focuses to a younger generation than it previously focused on. So, if you was older enjoying season 1 and move on to season 2, you'd feel like you was watching the news and then decided to watch Sesame Street. It seems the only thing important about Spellbinder series is traveling between dimensions while not keeping the original cast between seasons. I can't believe the director of this TV series would have let all the build up of the characters for season 1 for the next season go down the hole! The worked so hard to create Season 1 and build the characters up that when season 2 comes along, they make the Villains of Season 1 become the new main characters in Season 2!!! WTF???? I can completely understand why there is no season 3. Season 2 completely ruined it!! You'll notice this right as soon as you see the first episode! You'll definitely be sure that the main characters from season 1 does not come back to season 2 after watching up to episode 4! After watching episode 4, I finally decided not to continue watching as I have made up my mind that I will probably never see the cast from season 1 in season 2 based on what they said in episode 4.
