Ask any former Supernatural actor their reaction when they heard their character was being killed off, and they generally answer with a smile: “No one really dies on Supernatural.” And neither, it seems, does the show, which has managed to survive long after the final monster-hunting episode aired on November 19, 2020. The 15 seasons live on through syndication, streaming and, of course, in the hearts of millions of fans. Indeed, the series continues to find new life from a growing fanbase. With all 327 episodes available on Netflix, a younger generation has been discovering the show. Their allegiance is apparent in the impressive numbers of fans faithfully attending Supernatural conventions across the country and abroad — including Australia, Germany, and the U.K. — where they get to meet the stars, shop for signed photographs from the cast, buy merch and, most meaningfully to many, line up for a personal photo with their favorites. Other perks have included group karaoke,...

Just under two months ago, Hollywood mainstay Julianne Nicholson received her IndieWire Performance Honor, another mark in a year that is finally shining the spotlight on the journeyman actress. Sure, we’ve always been aware of her talent — she even earned some awards recognition as part of the ensembles for “August: Osage County” and “I, Tonya,” as well as a Supporting Actress Emmy nomination for “Mare of Eastown.” But it’s 2025 now, and Julianne Nicholson is a full-fledged television star.
First came “Paradise,” in which she got to portray the villainess Samantha “Sinatra” Redmond. Then came her recurring stint on “Hacks,” where she stretched her comedic muscle as a dancing mom TikTok influencer, appropriately named Dance Mom. Last month, Nicholson scored both her second and third Emmy noms for the projects, in the Supporting Actress in a Drama Series and Guest Actress in a Comedy Series categories, respectively.

Lena Dunham once pitched a “Scandoval” movie to Andy Cohen, with Andrew Scott and Jennifer Lawrence starring as Ariana Madix and Tom Sandoval from Vanderpump Rules. On the July 29 episode of the Shut Up Evan Podcast, the Girls star, 39, shared her wild idea with host Evan Ross Katz. Dunham recounted her affinity with reality TV during the SAG-AFTRA writers’ strike during their chat, explaining she was particularly fond of Vanderpump Rules. “I literally became so obsessed that I thought—what can we do while the writers’ strike is down?'” Dunham told Katz. “We should do a reenactment of the reunion in which Ariana confronts Tom and then takes Rachel/Raquel [Leviss] to town with trained actors.” The Too Much creator continued, “We should basically create like a mini movie in which actors treat this as canon and get up and perform with all the passion and virtuosity of Shakespeare.

Andy Cohen became the latest big name to cameo on “And Just Like That” — which will wrap its third and final season on August 14 — appearing as an employee at Bergdorf Goodman named Daniel. Cohen joins many, many other celebrities that have appeared on the “Sex and the City” sequel series, including Patti LuPone, Rosie O’Donnell, Jenifer Lewis, Sam Smith, Drew Barrymore, Billy Dee Williams, Gloria Steinem, Tony Danza, Candice Bergen… the list goes on.
But fictional TV, Cohen explained on his podcast (via EW), isn’t his natural habitat. It took a while to get his take, which involved him assisting Carrie (Sarah Jessica Parker) with shoe shopping. “I think the line in the script was just like, ‘Oh hey, Carrie, I’ll be with you in a sec,'” he explained. As simple as that line may sound, for Cohen, “Shooting these shows… is very difficult.”

Conan O’Brien — long before he himself became one of America’s favorite hosts — was on staff for three years as a “Saturday Night Live” writer, which he describes as one of the 50-year-old series’ most intense periods.
“I was in that state of mind, and I think [Robert] Smigel and [Bob] Odenkirk and Greg Daniels were like, ‘It’s life or death,'” O’Brien related on his podcast “Conan Needs a Friend” (via Entertainment Weekly). “And it feels like that’s kind of how everyone feels.”
Odenkirk expressed similar feelings in an interview with EW last month. “I was too hard on the show,” he said. “I had a lot of attitude when I got hired there, like, ‘This show could be better, this show could be ‘Monty Python,’ this should be more cutting edge, this should be more dangerous.’ And I was frustrated by it not representing purely my point of view.

And in Season 4, as announced at San Diego Comic-Con, there will be a puppet episode! And so when TV Insider spoke with Paul Wesley, who plays Kirk (not yet a captain), we had to ask if he’s going to be in the puppet episode. “I’m not in that episode, unfortunately, so I can’t speak to it. Netflix has officially canceled Fubar after 2 seasons — and fans of the series starring Arnold Schwarzenegger and Monica Barbaro are saying the same thing about the news. On August 1, Deadline reported that Fubar would not return for Season 3. The decision came after its Season 2 premiere on July 12 yielded lackluster viewership on the streaming platform. [Warning: The below contains spoilers for Deadliest Catch Season 21 premiere] The Season 21 premiere of Deadliest Catch on August 1 started in the middle of a dire situation with calls that “It’s ammonia. Ammonia Leak!” It’s 385 miles from the Dutch Harbor where Captain Jake Anderson and crew were aboard the Titan Explorer after an optimistic start to the red king crab hunt. Jake was the first to leave the dock despite 100-mile gusts and rough conditions. He had $5,000 worth of crab in the pot early on, which gave him hope his goal of buying the Titan Explorer outright would be in reach. That feeling may have dissipated the moment Jake and crew were taking in the dangerous aroma of ammonia, a colorless gas that has permeated throughout the vessel due to a leak. With vapors spread, it can easily ignite and cause an explosion. Jake investigated and secured doors, but there was one still open. He had to shut the...

Co-written by Hardwicke and then-14-year-old Reed, based on the teen’s real-life experiences, the script was crafted in only six days. Hulu is bringing back the animated classic King of the Hill — and it may look a little different than you remember.
Unlike The Simpsons, where Bart remains a grade-school prankster forever, King of the Hill decided to age up its characters for Hulu’s revival — premiering Monday, Aug. 4 — with Hank and Peggy’s son Bobby all grown up and Hank’s friend Boomhauer sporting a few new wrinkles. (The original Fox run wrapped up back in 2009.) So why did they decide to bring the good people of Arlen into the future?

From the looks of a new video shared by Buffy star Sarah Michelle Gellar Friday, we’d say the new Slayer-in-training has… potential.
In the new Instagram reel, Gellar and Ryan Kiera Armstrong (aka, “Warrior 1 and 2,” per the caption) can be seen preparing for battle, as both women work their bodies to the max in preparation for vampires, demons and the forces of darkness. It looks like quite a full workout, too! Squats, arms, lunges. Giles would be so proud.

In an unprecedented display of industry solidarity, Jimmy Kimmel has erected a billboard at the high-traffic intersection of Santa Monica Boulevard and La Cienega in West Hollywood, urging Emmy voters to support “The Late Show With Stephen Colbert” for outstanding talk series rather than his own nominated program.
The strategically placed advertisement features a simple yet powerful message: “I’m voting for Stephen.” The billboard serves as both a gesture of support for fellow late-night host Stephen Colbert and a pointed commentary on CBS’s recent cancellation of “The Late Show.”

It’s hard to believe that the ending of “And Just Like That” means that we really will, once and for all, be saying goodbye to Carrie Bradshaw.
That’s in part because actor Sarah Jessica Parker and showrunner Michael Patrick King haven’t been able to say goodbye to her, either. After “Sex and the City” wrapped up with a bow in 2004 — with Carrie, New York’s perennial single girl, happily paired off and even more happily aware that her she’d had everything she needed within herself the whole time — it was only four years before her return,...
