After so many years it is still highly watchable, adequately exciting. Almost all of the cast members show great talent, with Ashka being the most dazzling as expected. I don't know what it is about her, but when she screams out orders, you just want to obey after saying yes m'am, LOL.
I like the multiple universes being introduced this time, compared to the first season where only two parallel worlds were crossed. The one with the mechanicals is especially interesting. Be that as it may, I am a bit underwhelmed by the "Chinese" world they have created. Perhaps if they had chosen to use mandarin with subtitles, or translator, it would have felt more convincing.
Also, Ryan Kwanten is such an eye candy with that baby face. I wanted to squeeze his cheeks the entire time because he is that adorable.
I'm glad they chose to retain the soundtrack. It is rather iconic, evoking a sense of nostalgia, adventure, and tension.

By the actors in this one, especially the couple. The somewhat pretentious dialogues were executed well, aided by the clever choice of using elderly characters bent on doing whatever it takes to bring back a dearly departed. I personally think elderly people can pull off scenes of being wretched so much better simply by virtue of being wrinkled. The premise itself therefore is viscerally horrifying.
The satanist scene was simply lame. Hail Satan? I lol'd so much at the script here, a bit too amateurish and almost single-handedly took the fright out of the experience.
I also didn't really care for the nerd who specialized in satanic rituals. Such a typical trope that's been overplayed ad nauseam.

My bro Zachary would be so pissed off at this crossover lol where do we even begin?
1. The talent - not one single actor/actress can act. So wooden, the gait so unnatural, and so chronically camera-conscious.
2. The screenplay is also so motorized and mechanical, as if it was written off of a manual: step 1 do this, step 2 do that, step 3.. oh that's difficult let's skip to step 7. Hah!
3. The score composition is pure laziness, sounding a hell lot like music with free license taken off the junk PC of a 14-year-old Starcraft addict.
4. The krasue/penanggal? I was intrigued and excited by the decision to appropriate the Southeast Asian horror queen of the night. I understand the limitation with the CGI, maybe due to budgetary constraints. But what happened to the entrails? And why does this krasue have European features?
I mean, I did anticipate amateurish production but this was painful to watch. 1* for effort.
