1 of Lord of the Rings' Greatest Casting Decisions Left a Harry Potter Star Furious
Image
Quick Links Who Is Richard Harris? Why Did He Lose Out on the Role of Gandalf? Ian McKellen Was the Perfect Gandalf

The Lord of the Rings trilogy is known throughout the film industry as the standard that all adaptations should strive towards when going through the casting process. Viggo Mortensen's portrayal of Aragorn was the sort of thing that fans of the books dreamed about for as long as they could remember. Elijah Wood carried the weight of the quest to Mordor on his back with his expert performance as Frodo Baggins.

However, the casting process didn't always go smoothly. Viggo Mortensen came in to play Aragorn after the shooting had already begun. The female roles were each offered to a variety of performers before they landed in the hands of those who ultimately brought them to life. And one beloved Harry Potter star loathed that he lost...

Frank Griffin, Steve Martin’s Makeup Man on ‘Roxanne’ and Much More, Dies at 95
Image
Frank Griffin, who nosed out another makeup artist to work with Steve Martin on Roxanne, just one of the 20 movies they did together, has died. He was 95.

Griffin died Wednesday of cancer at his home in Studio City, his daughter Roxane Griffin, a veteran Hollywood hairstylist (Avatar, Transparent, 80 for Brady), told The Hollywood Reporter.

Frank Griffin started out in Hollywood as an actor and studio laborer before turning to makeup in the mid-1960s, and he went on to work on Beneath the Planet of the Apes (1970), Scarecrow (1973), Westworld (1973), Cinderella Liberty (1973), Close Encounters of the Third Kind (1977), Urban Cowboy (1980), Midnight Run (1988), Fast Times at Ridgemont High (1982), Vacation (1983), Revenge of the Nerds (1984) and Pee-wee’s Big Adventure (1985).

Survivors also include his sister Debra Paget, who starred in such films as Broken Arrow (1950), Love Me Tender (1956) — Elvis Presley’s first movie — and The Ten Commandments (1956).

His other two sisters were actresses as well: Lisa Gaye,...

5 Great Westerns to Watch If You Liked Horizon
Image
Horizon: An American Saga – Chapter 1 is now available on VOD. There’s no way around it – the film’s theatrical release was a huge disappointment, as it earned back only a fraction of its reported budget and has put the release of the second film in major jeopardy. However, now that it’s streaming, the hope is that people will be able to discover it at home, perhaps paving the way for this saga to continue. If you’ve watched Horizon and are jonesing for more modern westerns to check out, here are some we really like here at JoBlo.

Tombstone (1993):

This is perhaps an ironic one to put on a list that pays tribute to Costner’s Horizon, as the star’s own big-budget western epic, Wyatt Earp, was badly overshadowed by this competing story about the same historical events. The fact is, George Pan Cosmatos and Kurt Russell...

Elliot Silverstein, ‘Cat Ballou’ Director, Dies at 96
Image
Elliot Silverstein, known for directing films such as “Cat Ballou” and “A Man Called Horse,” died on Nov. 24 in Los Angeles, his family confirmed via Legacy. He was 96.

After working on episodes of TV series like “The Twilight Zone,” “Naked City” and “Route 66,” Silverstein made his feature directorial debut in 1965 with “Cat Ballou,” which starred Jane Fonda and Lee Marvin. Silverstein suggested Marvin play Kid Shelleen when Kirk Douglas turned down the role in the Western comedy. When a producer wanted to replace Marvin with José Ferrer, Silverstein threatened to quit. Marvin ended up winning an Oscar for his role in the film.

Silverstein went on to direct the Anthony Quinn-led “The Happening,” “A Man Called Horse,” starring Richard Harris, and the cult classic “The Car” with James Brolin. He was also integral in forming the Bill of Creative Rights for directors.

While working on his “Twilight Zone” episode “The Obsolete Man,...

Elliot Silverstein Dies: ‘Cat Ballou’, ‘A Man Called Horse’ Director Was 96
Image
Update, with DGA statement: Elliot Silverstein, who directed Jane Fonda and, in an Oscar-winning performance, Lee Marvin in the 1965 comedy-Western Cat Ballou, died Nov. 24 in Los Angeles. He was 96.

His death was announced by family members.

Born August 3, 1927, in Boson, Silverstein launched his directing career during television’s 1950s on such programs as Omnibus and the Alfred Hitchcock-produced mystery series Suspicion, Silverstein stayed busy with episodic series throughout the 1960s. Among his credits from the era: Route 66, Have Gun – Will Travel, Naked City, Dr. Kildare, The Defenders and four episodes of The Twilight Zone, including the fan-favorite, Rod Serling-penned 1961 installment titled The Passersby, a mournful ghost story set at the end of the American Civil War.

Silverstein’s TV career would continue, sporadically, through the 1990s when he directed four episodes of Tales From The Crypt and an episode of Picket Fences,...

Elliot Silverstein, Director of ‘Cat Ballou’ and ‘A Man Called Horse,’ Dies at 96
Image
Elliot Silverstein, who helmed episodes of such acclaimed TV shows as Naked City, The Twilight Zone and Route 66 before guiding Lee Marvin to a best actor Oscar in Cat Ballou, his feature directorial debut, died Friday in Los Angeles, his family announced. He was 96.

The Boston native also helmed A Man Called Horse (1970), which starred Richard Harris in the title role as an English aristocrat who eventually becomes the leader of the Native tribe that had captured and tortured him. The action movie spawned a couple of sequels.

Most importantly, Silverman was instrumental in the formation of the milestone Bill of Creative Rights for directors.

“Every director today owes a debt of gratitude to Elliot Silverstein,” DGA president Lesli Linka Glatter said in a statement. “No one ever worked harder or was more passionate about protecting artists from having their work and vision altered than Elliot.”

It was Silverstein...

10 Ways James Cameron's Avatar Blatantly Copies Other Movies
Image
James Cameron's Avatar borrows elements from various other films, exploring the concept of colonization in a futuristic setting, implying that history repeats itself. Avatar draws inspiration from films like Dances with Wolves, Pocahontas, FernGully, and A Man Called Horse, incorporating similar storylines and character dynamics. The film's plot, characters, and themes resemble those seen in movies such as Atlantis: The Lost Empire, The Last Samurai, and Princess Mononoke, prompting accusations of unoriginality.

James Cameron's Avatar is still the top-grossing film of all time (so far)—which is ironic considering the plot and concept is a mix of elements from various other movies. Though most of these films explored instances of colonization from the past, Cameron's idea placed these same concepts in the future. It's a way of saying that history is always likely to repeat itself and considering Avatar's success, the famed director must have been on to something.

Venice Review: Adrian Sibley’s ‘The Ghost Of Richard Harris’
Image
Though it sets out on a ghost hunt, Adrian Sibley’s fitfully fascinating documentary works better as an exploration of its subject’s public and private personas, charting Richard Harris’ rise from local sports star to screen legend via an unexpected heyday as a chart-topping pop star in 1968.

Rather than start with a séance, however, The Ghost of Richard Harris, screening in the Classics section of the Venice Film Festival, opens with the more prosaic sight of the actor’s three sons — Damien, Jared and Jamie — going through their late mother’s lock-up, where they find journals full of poetry, King Arthur’s crown (a prop from 1967’s Camelot) and trinkets from the Harry Potter franchise, in which their father played Dumbledore until his death in 2002, aged 72.

This set-up proves to be somewhat self-defeating, as the three middle-aged men, while reminiscing, then admit that they were packed away to boarding...

Richard Harris
‘He thought the world was bad and life was rubbish’ – Jared Harris’s shock at his dad Richard’s worldview
Richard Harris
He topped the charts, dated a princess and was a screen star from the kitchen sink 60s to Harry Potter. Yet his achievements were eclipsed by his hell-raising image. As a new film searches for the real Richard Harris, his son Jared looks back

It was in the late 1990s that Adrian Sibley first conceived of making a Richard Harris documentary. Back then, the brilliant Irish actor was in his early 70s, and best known for his defiant, broad-shouldered roles in such films as the 1963 kitchen-sink drama This Sporting Life and the violent 1970 western A Man Called Horse. But he also found himself beloved by a new generation of fans, thanks to his gentle, timeworn performance as Professor Albus Dumbledore in Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone. Wary of hagiography, yet a keen storyteller, Harris agreed to do Sibley’s film under one condition.

“He said, ‘I’ll do it...

The Horse Soldiers
Image
Despite its so-so critical reputation John Ford’s cavalry picture is still a superior Civil War drama, making excellent use of a real historical incident. The conflicts between John Wayne’s commander, William Holden’s doctor and Constance Ford’s unexpected prisoner play well — plus Ford manages scores of great images and a handful of classic scenes. Seeing it with the help of Joseph McBride’s commentary helps too — the story behind the movie is interesting in itself. And we’re told that Wayne never personally fires a shot in the film!

Martin Scorsese at an event for Golden Globe Awards (2010)
Martin Scorsese’s 11 Favorite Films of the 1990s
Martin Scorsese at an event for Golden Globe Awards (2010)
Martin Scorsese has never had a decade’s slump since breaking out in the 1970s, but the 1990s were an especially fruitful time. From his mob masterpieces Goodfellas and Casino to proving his hand at the sumptuous period piece with The Age of Innocence to showing how to bring something new to the remake with Cape Fear to his spiritual epic Kundun and inching into the new millennium with his overlooked Paul Schrader reunion Bringing Out the Dead, Scorsese also found time to continue his passionate study of cinema.

As he continues to edit Killers of the Flower Moon, we’re highlighting an oldie but goodie from the archives that has recently made the rounds: his list of favorite films of the ’90s as discussed with Roger Ebert. Kicking things off with a pair of “modern American epics” from Spike Lee and Michael Mann, the list also includes work from around the world,...

Ric Parnell, ‘This Is Spinal Tap’ Drummer, Dies at 70
Christopher Guest, Michael McKean, R.J. Parnell, Harry Shearer, Spinal Tap, and David Kaff in Spinal Tap (1984)
Ric Parnell, the British musician who took the role of doomed drummer Mick Shrimpton in the 1984 movie “This Is Spinal Tap,” has died, his co-star Harry Shearer confirmed. He was 70.

Parnell’s death was confirmed Sunday by Shearer, who played Spinal Tap bassist Derek Smalls. No cause of death was given.

Ric Parnell, our drummer in This is Spinal Tap, passed away today. No one ever rocked harder.

— Harry Shearer (@theharryshearer) May 2, 2022

Parnell played Shrimpton in the 1984 cult classic mockumentary about a heavy metal band that already had a long history of losing drummers to outrageous calamity. Shrimpton survives long enough to be featured throughout Rob Reiner’s film – though the character winds up exploding onstage during a tour of Japan.

At one point, Reiner interviews the band’s standing drummer – in the tub, with a shower cap – about sitting in Spinal Tap’s infamous hot seat.

The London-born Parnell...

Julia Roberts and George Clooney’s Delightful ‘Ticket to Paradise,’ Billy Eichner’s Raunchy ‘Bros’ Rep Rom-Coms at CinemaCon
Image
Longtime friends and frequent co-stars George Clooney and Julia Roberts toss back shots and break out funky dance moves in “Ticket to Paradise,” a romantic comedy in which they play hostile exes.

Universal Pictures brought a sneak peak of the film — which opens in theaters on Oct. 21 — to CinemaCon, the annual exhibition trade show currently underway in Las Vegas.

The two A-list stars were not on hand at Caesars Palace to promote “Ticket to Paradise,” but movie theater owners in the audience still appeared to be entertained by their on-screen reunion.

Clooney and Roberts play a divorced couple who fly to Bali to stop their lovestruck daughter (played by Kaitlyn Dever) from marrying a man she barely knows. The trailer, which hasn’t been released yet to the public, showcases several funny moments, including Clooney’s character drinking everyone on the island under the table and playing beer pong, which...

Netflix’s ‘Hard Cell’ Exec Kristian Smith Talks Tonal Shifts On Catherine Tate Comedy; Reveals Michael Morpurgo Adaptation
Image
Exclusive: Doctor Who star Catherine Tate’s Netflix comedy Hard Cell is a tonal shift from her previous work, according to exec Kristian Smith, who revealed the mockumentary’s producer Leopard Pictures is working on a feature film adaptation of a Michael Morpurgo novel.

Hard Cell, which drops today, features a fake documentary crew following the inmates and staff of Hmp Woldsley, with beloved UK comedy star Tate portraying multiple characters to capture the British penal system at its brutal and humorous best.

Smith told Deadline the six-parter is a departure from Tate’s previous work such as the BBC’s The Catherine Tate Show and said it is unique in the TV landscape.

“There’s real pathos to this, it’s proper storytelling” he added. “The show is laugh out loud funny and everything people love about Catherine is there but you will see moments of great tragedy, real...

Who will win Album of the Year at the Grammys: Repeat win for Billie or Tony? Breakthrough for Olivia?
Image
One of the top honors a musician can get from their industry peers is the Grammy for Album of the Year. Awarded to iconic albums throughout history like The Beatles’ “Sgt. Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band,” Stevie Wonder’s “Innervisions,” Fleetwood Mac’s “Rumours,” Lauryn Hill’s “The Miseducation of Lauryn Hill,” and Adele’s “21,” the category is a way of preserving for posterity excellent albums that were the year’s best of the best. This year 10 albums are gunning for a chance to take the prestigious honor, but only one will ultimately be crowned as the Album of the Year.

SEEWill Billie Eilish sweep the Grammys again? She’s cleaned up over the last 2 years

For Olivia Rodrigo, Album of the Year would not be an exaggerated title. Her debut album, “Sour,” broke myriad records and ended up second on Billboard’s year-end albums chart, the highest among the nominees.

SXSW Review: Ava DuVernay & Roberto Patino’s ‘Dmz’ Is Thrilling, Terrifying & A Trojan Horse For America 2022
Image
They say the devil is in the details, and that is certainly true for the dystopia dazzle that is Ava DuVernay and Roberto Patino’s Dmz.

Having just had its world premiere at SXSW today and set to debut on HBO Max on March 17, the Rosario Dawson, Hoon Lee and Benjamin Bratt-led adaptation of Brian Wood and Riccardo Burchielli’s comic of the same name can be best summarized in the massive graffiti splayed across a dilapidated Manhattan building in the series – “We’re Still Here.”

Yes, in the agile sociological hands of 13th and When They See Us director DuVernay, it is all still here, even more so in a further broken America. The racial, gender, class warfare and constant betrayal that has been soaked in the soil since before America even became a country is still here in the near future of Dmz and the wound is...

“Wonder Woman” InStyle
"Wonder Woman" actress Gal Gadot poses for the February 2022 issue of "InStyle" magazine, photographed by Giampaolo Sgura:

"I love language, and sometimes it's frustrating that I live my life in English now," said Gadot. "I dream in English but still don't have the language completely embedded within me. Whenever I get frustrated, I'm like, 'I'm still an immigrant'.

"I always look at the glass as half full...It took time to adjust to Hollywood — to understand the behavior, to read people, to be more polite. I come from a culture where we don't have filters. We say what we think, good and bad. My parents didn't raise me to be the star of the family or to become famous. I didn't think I was going to be an actress.

"By the time I got 'Wonder Woman', I knew what to expect. Maybe the scope was larger in the US,...

The Umbrella Academy Movie We'll Never Get To See
Elliot Page, Robert Sheehan, Tom Hopper, David Castañeda, Justin H. Min, Ritu Arya, Aidan Gallagher, and Emmy Raver-Lampman in Umbrella Academy (2019)
"The Umbrella Academy" is one of the more intriguing comic book adapatations currently running. Based on the Dark Horse Comics series by writer Gerard Way and artist Gabriel Bá, the show follows the exploits of the Hargreeves family, a group of seven super-powered siblings who gather together after their father's death to prevent the end of the world. This concept has lasted throughout two seasons so far, gaining critical acclaim and approval from fans of the comic. Speaking as one of those fans, I've enjoyed how the series delves into the dysfunctional relationship between the Hargreeves and their outright toxic relationship with their father, and the filmmakers manage...

Go-Big Show Season 2 Episode 3 Double Sneak Peek: Prepare to Cringe!
Richard Harris and Corinna Tsopei in Un homme nommé Cheval (1970)
TBS's Go-Big Show simply has no ceiling limit to the acts that are willing to compete for the $100,000 prize, and this week, TV Fanatic brings you not one, but two exclusive clips of men willing to risk life and... uh... "limb" to impress the judges.

Manu Lataste is a Frenchman continuing a family tradition of jumping bulls. Yeah, that's right. He jumps. Over. Bulls.

Meanwhile, the man known publicly as Horse, self-proclaimed Nutshot King Zac Gordon, demonstrates his unique ability to walk away from debilitating injuries to the most sensitive part of the male anatomy. Seriously. Ouch.

These two acts truly demonstrate the extreme spectrum of the term "talent."

At one end of the spectrum, Manu Lataste shows off technique, nerve, timing, and finesse.

It's clear that he has trained for years to be able to survive his murderous four-legged dance partner.

And he makes it look So Good.

Inside ‘Centaurworld,’ Your New Favorite Show to Get High To
Image
At this point, it’s a given that we’re living in the “golden age” of television; somewhere in the neighborhood of 500 new scripted series drop each year. With so much to choose from, that means TV can get daring, specific, and sometimes, weird as hell. Superheroes trapped inside an I Love Lucy pastiche? A creepy animatronic doll calling a murderous game of Red Light, Green Light? In the era of peak TV, grade-a oddity is only a mouse-click away.

But no show in 2021 is more weirdly specific — and specifically weird — than Centaurworld.

The Beatles: Get Back Will Show Uncensored Swearing on Disney+
Ed Sullivan circa 1965
When The Beatles first appeared on American television, Ed Sullivan thanked them for “being four of the nicest youngsters” he had ever met. He called them talented, professional, and very polite. Peter Jackson had to get special dispensation from the Mouse to let the band loosen their tongues for The Beatles: Get Back.

“We’ve had to have a discussion with Disney about the swearing,” Jackson told Radio Times. The six-hour documentary follows the band writing and rehearsing 14 new songs on a tight deadline. They were planning their first live show in over two years. Things get said. As John Lennon paraphrased this period of the band’s intensity in Anthology, “it’s because you got the tambourine wrong that my life’s a misery.” The documentary doesn’t censor the long-time friends.

“The Beatles are Scouse boys and they freely swear but not in an aggressive or sexual way,...

Fear the Walking Dead Season 7 Episode 5 Review: Till Death
Kim Dickens and Lennie James in Fear the Walking Dead (2015)
Is anyone else starting to get major Fear the Walking Dead Season 5 vibes?

Fear the Walking Dead Season 7 Episode 5 was a Dwight and Sherri-centric hour, and while it helped advance their relationship, it felt a little too familiar for my liking.

If you watch Fear the Walking Dead online, you know they have been reunited under the most intense of circumstances.

They got a second shot at life after serving the nuclear apocalypse. There was a moment of realization for them that they had wasted so much time apart from each other.

At its core, the franchise is about survival and the decisions you need to make to move beyond what has happened before.

Dwight and Sherri are still very much haunted by what happened to them in the Sanctuary. I have to commend the show for not forgetting about the psychological and mental warfare Negan played with them.

Q&a: Writer / Artist Colin Lorimer Discusses Teaming Up with Dark Horse for New Horror Comic Book Series Daisy

What can you tell our readers about the origins of Daisy?

It all started with the voices in my head and the visions of heaven.

Well, not quite.

The main spark for the book was John Dee. I’d been reading up on him for years and found it fascinating that Dee,...

‘Mustangs’ Documentary Pivots On Healing Powers of Wild Horses
Image
A quote by the Native American author and educator Luther Standing Bear flashes onscreen at the beginning of “The Mustangs: America’s Wild Horses.” The quote tells of an old Lakota man who “knew that man’s heart away from nature becomes hard,” that “lack of respect for growing, living things soon led to lack of respect for humans, too. So he kept his children close to nature’s softening influence.”

While the quote applies throughout Steven Latham and Conrad Stanley’s documentary, which looks at multiple angles of the modern plight of mustangs on America’s public lands, it fully resonates when the film explores how working with these animals helps veterans and active-duty service members. Pmc Vice Chairman Gerry Byrne is a consulting producer on the film.

Operation Wild Horse, a non-profit organization based in Bull Valley, Ill., pairs veterans and service members with formerly wild mustangs to build bonds between them,...

In 2019 it was then turned into an exclusive, unpainted, mini-figure for Mantic’s Hellboy: The Board Game, as a limited-time expansion. Standing approximately 12.25 inches tall from horn tip to the creaky floor board base, Krampus is crouched atop a cabinet of skulls ready to make mischief for Hellboy.

“Working with our good friends at Mantic and Level 52 Studios, we’ve enlarged and meticulously painted Hellboy’s favorite yule goat in gorey detail,” said Dark Horse Direct Director of eCommerce,...

Image
Netflix is developing a new drama series titled “Revenge Inc.” Variety has learned exclusively from sources.

Plot details on the show are being kept mostly under wraps, but sources say it would focus on a secret, underground company that specializes in revenge.

Matthew Arnold serves as the writer, executive producer, and showrunner on the project. Mike Richardson, Keith Goldberg, and Chris Tongue of Dark Horse Entertainment, the production arm of Dark Horse Comics, will also executive produce.

Dark Horse currently has a first-look deal at Netflix. “Revenge Inc” is not based on a Dark Horse comic, but rather is an original idea. According to sources, Tongue brought the idea to the company for development.

Reps for Netflix, Dark Horse, and Arnold declined to comment.

Arnold most recently co-developed and executive produced the NBC epic drama “Emerald City,” which was a modern reimagining of “The Wizard of Oz.” He is also...

Why Frank Miller Changed His Mind About Zack Snyder's DC Movies
Zack Snyder at an event for Sucker Punch (2011)
Zack Snyder's first comic book movie was "300," an adaptation of the Dark Horse series of the same name, written and illustrated by Frank Miller. "300" came out 15 years ago, before Snyder ever tackled DC Comics properties such as "Watchmen," "Man of Steel," and "Justice League." Snyder hasn't been shy about his love for Miller's comics, but until now, we haven't heard much of what Miller had to say about Snyder's movies.

In a recent podcast appearance (via ComicBook.com), Miller finally aired some of his thoughts about the give-and-take between his comics work and Hollywood. Specifically, he discussed his influential 1986 miniseries, "The Dark Knight...

Image
After pulling out of Farm Aid earlier this month because of the Covid-19 pandemic, Neil Young elaborated on his concerns in a new op-ed that accused concert promoters of valuing profits over safety.

“Garth Books and others like him have been responsible and pulled back from doing shows,” Young wrote in a post on the Neil Young Archives. “That’s a good example. But it will take big promoters and managers/agents to make the difference. It’s all about the money… The big promoters, if they had the awareness,...

‘Jupiter’s Legacy’ Ends After One Season, Netflix Orders Live-Action ‘Supercrooks’ Spinoff
Leslie Bibb, Josh Duhamel, Elena Kampouris, and Andrew Horton in Jupiter's Legacy (2021)
“Jupiter’s Legacy” is done after one season, but Netflix is not done with the superheroic world created by Mark Millar. In a statement on Twitter, Millar said that they’ve effectively ended the version of the show that premiered last month in favor of a “Supercrooks” series, which centers on the villains of that same fictional universe.

The series has an official order from the streaming, an individual with knowledge of the project told TheWrap. “Supercrooks” is being envisioned as the next chapter in the “Jupiter’s Legacy” franchise.

“We’ve made the tough call of letting our incredible cast out of their show commitment,” Millar said. The cast for “Jupiter’s Legacy” included Josh Duhamel, Leslie Bibb, Elena Kampouris, Matt Lanter, Andrew Horton and Ben Daniels.

There is already a “Supercrooks” anime series that will debut later this year.

Here’s Millar’s full statement: “I’m really proud of what...

The Prince of Bushwick Wants to Be Mayor of New York
Image
Becoming mayor of New York City requires submitting oneself to a gauntlet of minor humiliations: being ridiculed for everything from your favorite subway stop, to the way you eat pizza, to the pseudonym you used to sext strangers you met online. On a recent Saturday in Manhattan’s Tompkins Square Park, one-time frontrunner Andrew Yang was experiencing a new one: getting absolutely owned in a game of Horse by a 28-year-old in a translucent blue unitard and neon hot pants — the rapper Paperboy Prince.

If that weren’t bad enough,...

Indie Horror Month 2021: Cm Punk Discusses Working with Barbara Crampton on Jakob’S Wife, His Friendship with Travis Stevens, His Involvement with Starz’s Heels, and More
Image
As someone who has been a lifelong fan of both horror and wrestling, nothing makes me happier than when my worlds collide, especially if it involves one of the greatest in-ring performers that also happens to hail from my home state making an appearance in a genre film. And of course, in this instance I am talking about none other than Cm Punk (Phil Brooks). In 2019, he starred in Travis Stevens’ directorial debut, Girl on the Third Floor, and he’s also part of the killer ensemble for Stevens’ latest film, Jakob’s Wife, but this time he’s playing a Deputy who has to contend with a bloodthirsty Barbara Crampton and her character’s well-meaning husband, played by Larry Fessenden.

Earlier this week, I had the opportunity to chat with Punk about being a part of Jakob’s Wife, and how it was a dream come true for him,...
