This was a surprise as it was the reverse of the usual K drama where the beginning is strong & the writing tends to weaken towards the end. I thought by the beginning this was going to be a fairly light, predictable romcom. I didn't even want to see how they met & that perm off his. But the second half of the series proved a bit more challenging with the subject matter - illness, death, guilt, mental health crises. I cried in parts which is a bit unusual for K dramas. The ending was not all neatly tied up. I didn't mind that as it was a departure to the everything works out scenario.
I got interested in this due to the ML, Seo Kang-joon, who I enjoyed in When the Weather is Fine. He has a certain presence about him. I thought the FL became stronger towards the end.
I particularly enjoyed the role of the friend from the salon, but the plastic surgeon looked like he had had too much work done & was a bit expressionless. The sister character was quite offensive how she treated her partner. Why do strong females have to become male versions?
I watched it to the end & felt that the mental health issues were dealt with realistically.

One of my least favorite drama in a long time. Watched the whole thing. Loved the script at the beginning and loved in the beginning when the male lead was the police officer. It was full of love, action, interest, but then it turned into a very different drama at the chef point. That's when it became bad. Loved some of the cooking shots, but that has nothing to do with the love story itself. And when he was training as a chef it comes out later that the FL was in the same town at the same time and they never even ran into each other? Why even mention it in the script then? The script made the FL act so terrible to the ML the whole time. Just couldn't stand it and the ending was bad.
The message of this drama is great that you need to have same level of confidence in a relatonship. And to have it, you need to be the best version of you.
I just watched this drama in Netflix. In early stage looks like typical romantic comedy, then turn out a dark, frustrating psychological tragedy.which is boring and tiring. I always like to watch Esom, and she was really good in this drama as well. In supporting roles, Park gyu young and. Lee Yoon ji deserved very big applauds. Editing is so complex, sometimes Iost totally. To many repeats, to many clichè acts...But i like the songs especially the Rap one in last episode. In last few episodes the leading male character's mood and behaviour made the people frustrate I guess And it was really boring. Anyway, this is another ordinary k-drama. If you still did nit watch, that is OK. No worries. You didn't miss anything.
You may mostly enjoy this drama if you have ever been a hopeless romantic with the craziness level of at least 8 out of 10. It will probably make you cry a lot or feel that pain again which you may have forgotten.
I would suggest watching during a weekend or when you have enough time to binge watch the series. It gets heavier and heavier, so make sure you are prepared for it.
Avoid watching this if you were expecting a feel god romantic comedy. It mostly made me feel sad and depressed, but not all dramas can do that either; so it could still be something worth experiencing. Depends on your taste.
It could have been fewer episodes as I started loosing the emotional connect after episode 12. But if you watch 12 episodes, you may as well watch all of them.
