The Harry Hill Movie

Harry Hill has always been a fairly divisive comedian, his unique absurdist style has usually worked pretty well on me, especially on TV burp and his old channel 4 show. Although he's funny in half-hour slots, he doesn't seem to be capable of sustaining a feature-length film. The storyline is rather weak, involving Abu the hamster being taken on holiday to Blackpool (although they ended up in Blackpole at first) for his supposedly final week alive, but Harry's brother sends his henchmen to capture him. The acting is okay but not particularly good. The songs are fine too though not particularly funny. Harry often breaks the fourth wall to let the audience know about safety regulations etc, this was funny the first time but got irritating as he did it every 5 minutes seemingly.

It's certainly unique and while not horrible it wasn't really a bundle of fun either.

Doctor Harry Hill brings his madcap humour to the big screen and he manages to rope in Matt Lucas, Julie Walters, Johnny Vegas, Sheridan Smith, Simon Bird and Jim Broadbent where he embarks on a road trip to Blackpool with his Nan when he discovers that his pet hamster, Abu Hamster who is oozing green stuff only has one week to live. However this is only a scheme hatched by his long lost twin and a pair of henchmen.

Trouble is Hill ends up in Blackpole where he spends a night in a guest house run by the Magic Numbers and takes a guided tour of a nuclear power plant by a cleaner (Oscar winner Jim Broadbent in drag!)

The film contains sniper chicken useful for a midweek dinner, radioactive hamsters, a dog Jackson 5 tribute, the Dachshund 5, shell people, a fox that is a master of disguise and Blackpool.

Its a madcap, surreal, silly mayhem. The film rather lulls in the middle when you feel its run out of steam and laughs. The humour is a bit hit and miss, however switch your brain off, watch it with the kids and it is mildly entertaining and amusing.

I watched Harry Hill The Movie and I loved it! The actors in the movie are great in the film. First, Harry Hill and his nan perform amazing stunts in this film and is absolutely hilarious. The jokes, the stunts, the scenes and the acting is amazingly funny - but professional. I hope this film gets released on DVD as I will definitely be buying it! The hamster is really funny and cute - and hilariously voiced by comedy legend Johnny Vegas. Nan (Julie Walters) was extremely funny, performing great stunts and cracking hilarious jokes - like Harry Hill. Meanwhile, Harry's mean brother Otto (Matt Lucas) and his evil team try to steal the hamster - following Harry, Nan and the hamster all the way to Blackpool in disguise. Overall, it was a really funny movie and great for the family. 7/10!

I went to see this film with my family of Harry Hill lovers, and I loved it! Harry Hill, Julie Walters, Matt Lucas, Simon Bird and Johnny Vegas were all fantastic. Saying this as a lifelong Harry Hill fan, I would recommend it if you've ever watched him. If you don't know or like his sense of humor then you will probably not like it. On IMDb, The Harry Hill Movie has too many bad reviews. This is because they do not like him. It should definitely be more popular!

There were loads of funny scenes, including a fight on top of Blackpool tower. The worst part was the end credits! He has a strange background in the film, because he has a twin brother brought up by Alsatians because his Nan couldn't look after them both because their parents went on holiday but ended up staying there.

Brilliant idea for a family afternoon if you need some comedy to liven up your day!

I think it goes without saying that you have to enjoy Harry Hill's unique brand of humour to find this film entertaining.

If you do you'll have a great time watching this film - it's full on silly and surreal goofy humour for the 80+ mins, with lots of bigger name stars (sorry Harry) clearly having a ball.

If you don't find Harry Hill's humour funny, and cheered when he stopped making 'TV Burp' then you'll find nothing here to alter your impression.

I enjoyed it, though admittedly after repeated viewings.
