In the heat of the moment....

She was at one end of the room, just looking around as if in anticipation of something.......or someone. There were people gathered around, some talking and some just looking at the others in the room.

All of a sudden a door opened and the room became brighter, intense. She looked over and saw him look over at her, their eyes caught and the room became a blazing oven. There was no need for words as there was no one else but the two whose eyes were locked in a heated embrace. Everything was bright with vivid flashing colors that engulfed the two.

He knew the people there, but he just went past and straight to her. She couldn't wait and started to walk towards him, their eyes still locked in that heated embrace and then they were in each others arms and the world was filled with a fire she had never known. He kissed her, their lips locked, unbearable heat, electrifying touch and then.....

She picked up the paintbrush and continued to paint .......his eyes.

Just another side of gloria, the writer side.:))

HAPPY BIRTHDAY.......................ON SATURDAY......

RENEE

HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO YOU

HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO YOU

HAPPY BIRTHDAY DEAR RENEE

HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO YOU

MAY YOUR BIRTHDAY BE HAPPY, HAPPY, HAPPY.

THANK YOU FOR BEING MY BLOGGER FRIEND

YOUR POSTS ALWAYS ENLIGHTEN ME

STAY AS YOU ARE, FRESH, VIBRANT, AND POSITIVE.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY RENEE

YOUR FRIEND, GLORIA.

HYDRA is completed, will upload her tomorrow

HYDRA is completed. She/he is outside drying with the sealer I sprayed on her/him. I really am enjoying working with clay. When I start working with clay my hands and fingers automatically envision the face of an Egyptian. I don't know why, except that maybe I am reincarnated. I once did a bigger version of an Egyptian and I do have a picture of it. I will upload it tomorrow along with the completed Hydra.

I love that name, thanks to my friend Bob. He also gave me info on he/she on a comment he left me. I'll need to bring that info up so you can read about he/she. Oh look, there is the information about the original Hydra. I don't know if my Hydra looks like the original and who really knows what she/he looked like. I mean it was mythological like Bob says.

BOB'S INFORMATION ON HYDRA
************************************
Just so you know, the original Hydra was an ancient Greek mythological beast that was half male and half female. It was finally killed by Hercules but he had a lot of trouble. When he cut of the head two more appeared and whenever he cut off one of those two more appeared etcetera. I only suggested Hydra because your statue looked a bit like a Greek mythological figure and all the ringlets reminded me of cut off heads. The general meaning of Hydra has become that of a multifaceted evil monster who can't be conquered with just one blow. There is also a constellation called Hydra in the starry sky and several forms of plant life are called Hydra. If you don't want to use that name it is no problem for me. I only suggested it because that is what your figure reminded me of :)

And there you have a great description offered by Bob. He knows a lot about everything. If you ever get a chance, visit his blog.

Update on name, it's Called Hydra

HYDRA

I'm not even sure who or what this and whether it's a she or a he. As you can see the neck area has a downward crack. Additional clay is needed in that area and more baking before it is sanded and painted. I guess I fibbed when I said I was putting off painting/studio stuff. I wanted to start and paint the interior of the studio but I just can't get to it. Paint is waiting but I need motivation to do that, I always end up thinking of something else to do. I think my arm needs twisting. OUCH!! That would hurt. I'll get to it, I will, I'll get to it sooooon. So this is Mr./Miss/Mrs./Mz., who knows. Can you tell? If you can tell, please let me know because I am in the dark of this "Thing." Yes that's it. It's name is "Thing." Case cracked, it's cracked all right. Lol. Be back later. Take care.

PS: I just got a name for "Hydra" and Bob my friend suggested it and I like that name. In Spanish it is La Hidra. That is the things name henceforth. :) I also found out today (friday) that Hydra means a "molecule."

Love is.......

I seen this video at Serena's blog http://dreamwiththefishes.blogspot.com/ and I just had to post it here so you can see the sweetness in life. It is so filled with how closeness can be so fulfilling. I know you will love it. I'll be back later to post because right now I'm working with clay and I've just taken out of the oven this "thing" I made. I'll upload a pix of it later. Enjoy this video, it is awesome. Have a great day. Thanks Serena.

FLOWERS can be just as invigorating as music....

especially when they are in your backyard like these.....Aren't they beautiful? If only I could paint flowers. I did once, some lilacs that I had seen in an artist book. Mary Cassatt's Lilacs In A Window :

http://www.paintingall.com/product.php?productid=8644

After seeing her lilacs I just had to do some as well. These are my lilacs and if you click on the link you can see hers. Nowadays its okay to do interpretations of your own version.

Of course these are our flowers growing in the garden looking ever so beautiful.Feel free to look at what is presently blooming in our garden.
Take care.

MISS RED OR MISS BLACK AND WHITE

Here is Miss Red in black and white. This is an old painting and I'm just playing around with my Kodak photo album software to see how I can fix her up.
I spotlighted her in this one and you can see a lot of damage to the fibre board from just being pushed up against the wall or something. She has nicks on her lips, on her chin and hair.
Here's Red as how she started out. You can still see a lot of damage.

I think I am going to do some touch-ups here and there. If you look closely my previous used name is signed at the bottom right. I used to use Lennie when I signed my canvas and I think I told you once that my son asked to use my name when I sign my canvases and since then I started using gloria, or glor. Look at all the missing paint up there. I will learn and I am learning from other artists on blogland. One can get so many hints and tricks from the great artist's we have here. Time to go make myself a tea or something. It is cold right now. Be safe and have a great day tomorrow Tuesday.
Viva La Vida!

It got dark, there were noises in the sky and then....

Various vegetables like chili's, zucchini, tomatoes and good things to grow.
Beautiful Alyssum that just fills the air with an engulfing intoxicating scent. Ooooh, breathe it in.
More veggies of different kinds, just waiting to be planted.

it started raining. So much for gardening. It was bright and I really wanted to put some plants in, but it got muddy. Oh well, sometime during the week. It was bright and sunny and looked like it was going to be a fabulous day, well it was....but not for gardening. The plants above are what I was going to work with. I guess there is really no rush, I just want to get at it.
On another note, thanks again to all those that entered the giveaway. I have most addresses, I just need Didaz, Carmen, Renee, and Not so glamorous housewife's addresses. Don't forget to email me because I really want you to have the print.
I've got some research to do on various things, so I will find my way out of here and some where else.:) Take care and have a great Sunday and life is good.

You will all be getting a print or copy, whatever you want to call it. I say print because it sounds good. I did print out 10 on the hard stock paper with texture. In the meantime, please go to my profile and click on email and send me your mailing address or p.o. box. The addresses will not be given out. Honestly. In fact when I am done mailing out your print I will delete the email with your address. I still have 1 more print so if anyone out there wants one, let me know and I will save it for you. Thank you all for your previous posts on my 300th post and your kind words. I am grateful for the acquaintances this bloggerland has provided us with.

Today is of course Saturday, and I was hoping to watch Rick Bayless on his cooking show on PBS, but he doesn't seem to be on today. At least not over here. I just love his cooking show. So I guess it means I'm off and running.....outside that is and to the gardening part of my life. I'll take pix and post later, for sure this time. I had planned on doing that yesterday and I just got busy and didn't have the camera. Have a great weekend and do something that makes you happy.

Regarding the 300th post

I've been getting emails from some of my visitors who apparently don't like to give out their addresses, so they prefer not to join in on the giveaway and that's okay. I understand the reasons. Either way I thank them for letting me know and appreciated. So for those of you who want to join, rest assured your address will not be given out. Any way I did reach 300 posts and thats cool. Be back later, have to make dinner. Take care.

300TH. POST GIVEAWAY- WooHoo

Would you believe that this is my 300th. post? Well it is! As is known, most blogger's give away a freebie on certain days or certain events, etc. I am giving away 10, yes 10 free 8 1/2 by 11 Textured, Solid Core Cardstock, Heavy Weight print of what you see above,
"The Dancing Mermaids."
If you want a copy, just log into my blog today and let me know before you leave if you want to be entered into the giveaway, and I will jot down your names and pop them into my sweet dad's once upon a time hat. (that way you know that I will be honest in selecting the 10 names) I'll select the names and post the winner's tomorrow. I do hope you want one because I would love to give you a print.
Today is gardening day again and I'm potting some Alyssum (maybe the spelling is one S) which smells divine. Maybe later I'll post some of my work in the garden. Haven't been doing any painting lately, but once I catch up on my gardening and paint the inside of the studio a little at a time, I will be back to painting. My friend yaya has her garden going and she is saving me some epazote seeds. They are supposed to make food taste pretty darn good and they are especially for beans. Ahem. lol. (GAS) Supposed to rid the beans of it. Ahem again.
Oh well no more silliness. Got to get moving and do my stuff. Have a great day and remember to let me know if you would like to be entered in the giveaway. Don't delay now. Haste makes waste or something to that effect. Take care, be back later and YAY, my 300th somewhat of a post.

Afterthought

I had clay left over and I made these little trinkets, dried them in oven and used acrylics and gloss. I pierced a hole at the top. Just learning a little of this and a little of that. How fun is that!
A blogger friend called "housewife" posted a painting of Picasso's "Blue Room" on her blog and I told her I had done a pastel form of the blue room and that I would post it for her. I did this a few years back.

I also did "Ironing Lady" and I'm not sure that is what it is called. This is my version of Picasso's pink mood. I had fun doing these pastels.
Today was a simple day with a visit to the post office, exercise, looking for plants, planting seeds, watering the small garden I talked about earlier and counting my blessings. Tomorrow I've got a load of things to do and it's not at home. I'll be gone till about noon or so and then I've got to take a blouse back to exchange. I didn't care for the way it looked. Well it's elimination night on American Idol and I will be watching that shortly. Almost to my 300Th post, yahoo! I can't believe time has gone by so fast. Mind boggling.
Have a great Thursday.

Copper Lady

Is that not unreal how copper looks when you emboss it. I love it. For now though I'm stopping because I don't know what else to do to it. I wanted it to look shiny but I'm afraid of spraying it with gloss and ruin the whole thing. If anyone has any suggestions, please let me know because this is new to me and I'm open to learning. So here is the finished Copper Lady.

I think there will now be a short break in painting, etc. as getting creative in other areas is calling to me...ie.....gardening, painting the interior of my studio and getting rid of the all white color. The sun is out today and I'm feeling good. Have to finish my interior home duties and then outside. I need to plant some seeds in pots, water my newly established "close to home" garden area with onions, greens, garlic. WooHoooo, Fun, Fun, Fun. Be back later. Take care and have a great day, evening where ever you are, and Billie if you stop by, my thoughts are with you and Taylor.

COPPER LADY IN DRESS

I'M UPDATING ON MY POST
I have to say that for some reason I thought I was working with TIN, but it is COPPER and not TIN. That goes to show how much I know about mediums. Thanks Bob Mrotek for the info.

This is what I am working on now. I just had to try copper and I just love the way it feels to emboss. Of course I've no experience in this and I am having fun working with this. I still have more to add, and I know some paint or something will be involved. I need to do some more research on working with copper. It was my husband's day off and he was busy with a project for his work and I was doing this and a few other things. I did stop by some blogs to read.

I was saddened to learn that a wonderful lady has lost her beloved pup named Taylor. I believe he was 12 years old. I know how she is feeling and my heart aches for her loss. I have her blog site listed on my list of favorites. Her name is Billie and her blog is called Billie's blog. If you get a chance please stop by her blog to cheer her up. I'm sure receiving comments would lift her spirits a little. Thank you.

So tomorrow it's back to Curves. Okay I admit I have been slacking off, but I am going to give it my all and definitely cut back on sweets. If I have licorice in the house, I'm all over it. hehehe. I just love it with all my heart and tummy. :) Listen people, take care, be well and enjoy tomorrow because every day is a blessing. So tell me what you think about my tin. How does it look, what does it need. You can critique me, I won't cry...I promise. Take care.

Before I forget, Happy Saint Patrick's Day and don't forget to wear something green.

PICTURES, PICTURES, PICTURES.

Spending the whole day in the backyard just reinforces my desire to get out and do all the things I'm supposed to do tomorrow. I know what you're thinking. Gosh Gloria, don't you have anything else to do but take pictures. Well actually I don't want anything else but this that I enjoy so much and want to share with you. Home is where the heart is and my home and backyard are my haven, as I have always said. Besides, pictures are a lot of fun, just be thankful that they weren't of me. lololol. So the views you see are from different "rooms" as we call them and they are all in the backyard. We have the cactus garden, the little fruit orchard, the white garden, chorizo's garden, the green garden for veggies, the nuts orchard, the gazebo resting place and there are more little rooms. We have a lot of fun tending to this lot, but as the years go on, I don't know. Please have a great week, I know I will. Enjoy the pix and take care. Viva La Vida!
