Snowman Quilt top

I have assembled a quilt top with the Vermillion Stitchery Snowmen series that I just finished.
I was a little nervous about looking at the picture - something usually jumps out at me the first time I see a picture that I can't believe I missed during the assembly process.  I am so thankful that none of the snowmen ended up upside down in the top.

It's not very big - 37" x 46.75" - but I am calling it done because nothing is coming to me that should be added to make it bigger and there isn't enough left of any the fabrics for another border.

December Snowman Finish

The December Snowman was a delightful way to finish up this series.  I can't remember the last time I finished an entire series with so much enjoyment.
In case you missed it, the charts are still available on the wayback machine if you click here.
I have started squaring up each block and adding a border.  I have picked out some sashing so I hope to at least finish them into a quilt top rather than add them to my drawer of stitching that never got finished into something.
Have a Happy Stitching week.

Sacajawea is Finished

My Daughter sent me this photo of my granddaughter's Sacajawea finish.  She said the lighting was so bad for a picture that she will bring it with her on their next visit so I can see it in person..  I am so impressed with my young 9 year old granddaughter for coming up with the idea to include a stitched piece in her school presentation and actually getting it finished in time.  Here is the original chart that we made a couple of changes to before she could start stitching.
My December snowman is finished!  I will have a picture posted tomorrow.
Happy Stitching

November is done - 1 more to go

I just finished the November snowman in this series so December is the only month left to do.  The faces are a real challenge for me so I never know what expression ends up on each face until they are done - I am not sure how to describe this one but he looks like he can't wait to eat the turkey.
I have hundreds of projects dancing in my head so I may be in shock for a few days when the December snowman get its final stitch.
Have a great week of stitching.

A Snow Witch Finish

I just finished the October Snow Witch and I love it.  Halloween is not my favorite holiday so other than an occasional pumpkin I rarely stitch from that theme - but I must say there is something about this Snow Witch that I find quite adorable.
I have 7 stitches in the November Snowman (actually it's an Indian holding a turkey) so I don't have a wip of that to post yet.
Back in January I thought I would be done with these snowmen by the end of March so they are taking longer than I guestimated.  I refuse to put them aside no matter how many projects are saying "Start Me - right now".  It's so hard to get back to something when I set it aside so I am determined to finish these snowmen before I chose my next project.

October Witch WIP

I started the October Witch this week and she is quite adorable for a witch.
I hope I can get more stitching time and finish it by next week.

My granddaughter (age 9) is doing a school presentation about Sacajawea.  She wants to cross stitch a visual aid as part of her presentation so we have been looking for beginner charts of indian girls but we did not have any luck finding anything suitable.  I designed a chart in Excel and I think that is the one she is going to be stitching.
Here is the chart and I hope to get a picture of her finish.

Enjoy your stitching time.

Sept Snowman Done?

I can not decide if I want to backstitch the face guard on my football player.  Maybe he's waiting on the sidelines instead of actually out on the field playing in the game.
I don't know if I just don't like the look of the guard or if I just don't want to back stitch it right now.
I think I really just want to start stitching the October Witch.  I can always go back later and back stitch the guard if I decide it doesn't look finished.
Have a great week of stitching
