updated review on 1/10/2025: okay apparently they pixed directx12 and maybe 11 now, ty aggro crab and landfall!

Now that I have more hours in this game and 100% the Steam Achievements/Badges, I can confidently say that this is, in fact, PEAK. The music is not bad, the gameplay and the interactivity with friends/random strangers trying to escape an island that can vary wildly from day to day, from dealing with a jungle to a forest with annoying beetles that fling you and ZOMBIES; and a inhospitable desert with mirages and dynamite scattered through, or a cold frigid biome where randomly you could get frozen by the sparadic blizzards that either last forever and stay away for a bit or come back instantly if it feels like it. If an intended item or mechanic exists, there is surely a badge relating to it. However, there is major complaint that I have. If you are not running even a decent computer, then you will most likely struggle with this game, as either you could struggle with basically unplayable graphic errors using DLX11 or 12, or have your entire COMPUTER crash using Vulkan. Honestly, these last dozen or so hours I have been using my Nvidia GeForce NOW subscription so I can actually play the game without having my game crash and loose my hour or two of progress, but it is a sad solution I have to make. Considering my crappy laptop cannot even run Marvel Rivals due to software compatibility issues, this is most likely a skill issue on my end. But, alas, this game gets a solid 8/10, mainly due to older or just not as powerful computers having difficulty running it. Hopefully, whenever the -GabeCube- Steam Machine releases, it can run it better than my PC unless it costs like $700 or some crap (which still would be cheaper than an Xbox or Playstation), in which I may opt to not invest into it.

also, RIP beating the game and getting half the achievements using cannon glitch, those damn fog walls are so MASSIVE but justifiable
