Hello everyone, i am trying to set up a call with sipp between two users through the Open-ims core. Actually i succeeded to register both clients and successfully start the call, as the INVITE message is sent by the first client and correctly received by the second user. The problem i am facing now is that the Open-ims core does not become aware that the second user answer the call and after some second a TIMEOUT message is sent to the second user. As far as i understand, the called user has to send a 180 Ringing and then a 200 OK messages to the pcscf to confirm he answered the call. Actually those messages are not considered by the Open-ims core even if they are correctly delivered (i checked that through Wireshark). Does anyone succeeded making a call and can share with me the sipp scenario? Or is it possible to know which is the correct syntax of 180 Ringing and 200 OK messages? Thank you in advance, Alessio Diamanti |

Hi IMEI verification typically happens during LTE attach between the MME and an EIR (Equipment Information Register) using the S13 interface. You can check 3GPP TS 29.272 for the details of the interface. Basically on LTE attach the MME triggers an S13 ECR message to the EIR and the EIR checks whether the IMEI is valid or not. The EIR logic depends on a number of issues (e.g. sometimes regulators provide an IMEI database to which an EIR needs to connect and there may be specific requirements on IMEI whitelisting, blacklisting, greylisting) so is usually implementation specific. I think EIR is considered a subset of HSS functionality so most commercial HSS will probably include this as a feature. Regards Richard. Hi , My name is Mohamed Amine Hajji and I'm a Tunisian student ,I m studying Network and Telecommunications Engineering at ESPRIT -Tunis (ESPRIT school of engineering). In my graduation project I need OpenEPC components specially the one that are in relation with IMSCore. my project is : "The subject consists of simulating an IMS network and the LTE components interacting with the IMS core. The simulation will trace the signaling and the voice passing over the network. VOLTE terminals will then be used to register and make sessions on the network." Can you help ? i hope you will help me. And I hope you will answer me as soon as possible. Best regards |

Hi Edouard,
It has been some time now and yes we were able to get the IPSec working.
There was limitation of UE not behind NAT to get this working.
Regarding you last point of the sockets, we had to make changes in the code
base as the socket structure was not initialized completedly when fd read
trigger was send from parent to child process resulting in child process
crash.
This was the issue with the dynamically created tcp sockets (IPSec case).
Thanks

Hi,
Looking at the list, it seems that some of you have managed to establish an IPSEC tunnel between their UE and the P-CSCF. As for me, I had to make some changes in the source code : here is a proposed patch to the P_security_relay() function in modules/pcscf/registration.c
* The first modification around line 1230 relates to the destination port of the message. Regardless of the type of message (request or answer) intended to UE, the P-CSCF has to send it to UE's port-s. As far as I understand IPSEC-SA, a message is send from port-c to port-s, either from P-port-c to UE-port-s or from UE-port-c to P-port-s
case SEC_IPSEC:
if (pcscf_use_ipsec && c->security->data.ipsec)
- {
- if(msg -> first_line.type == SIP_REPLY)
- dst.len += sprintf(dst.s + dst.len, ":%d", c->security->data.ipsec->port_uc);
- else
- dst.len += sprintf(dst.s + dst.len, ":%d", c->security->data.ipsec->port_us);
- }
- else dst.len += sprintf(dst.s + dst.len, ":%d", port);
+ dst.len += sprintf(dst.s + dst.len, ":%d", c->security->data.ipsec->port_us);
+ else
+ dst.len += sprintf(dst.s + dst.len, ":%d", port);
break;
* The second modification lines 1269-1270 relates to the emitting socket. For the same reason, it has to be the socket_pc and not the socket_ps
- else if(msg -> first_line.type == SIP_REPLY && socket_ps)
- msg -> force_send_socket = socket_ps;
+ else if(msg -> first_line.type == SIP_REPLY && socket_pc)
+ msg -> force_send_socket = socket_pc;
This correction was not enough to make it work. The socket is created and binded in a process and used (for sending) in another one. I had to use one (and only one) -D option in the command line :
>LD_LIBRARY_PATH="/usr/local/lib/ser" /opt/OpenIMSCore/ser_ims/ser -f /opt/OpenIMSCore/pcscf.cfg -D -d -d -d -E
I hope than you can confirm this and accept the patch.
Regards
Edouard

You can put the trigger point in the pcscf.conf under "route(Orig_Initial)". You need to define a new header manipulation routine. Just follow the existing implementation. Hi, Could someone assist in pointing me to where in the source code the headers in the SIP INVITE message at the P-CSCF are processed? I am receiving a SIP URI from a VoLTE phone which does not append the @<domain> to the URI so I need to modify a bit. Thanks in advance, Jeff |

Hello, I am testing OpenIMSCore with IPSEC. I send a REGISTER request to OpenIMS with a Security-Client header attached. OpenIMS replies with 401 (Unauthorized) but a Security-Server header is missing from this message. I have ticked 'All' authentication schemes in the FHoSS portal. I have also enabled IPSEC in pcscf.cfg. What could be the problem? I have attached wireshark logs with this email.
