Open Source C++ Frameworks

QP real-time event frameworks (RTEFs) provide lightweight, modern, event-driven architecture based on asynchronous Active Objects (Actors) and Hierarchical State Machines. The matching QM model-based design tool and other host-based tools complement the QP frameworks by supporting graphical modeling, code generation, software tracing, and unit testing for event-driven embedded software. The frameworks contain a selection of built-in real-time kernels (RTOS kernels), such as the cooperative QV kernel, the preemptive non-blocking QK kernel, and the unique preemptive, dual-mode (blocking/non-blocking) QXK kernel. Native QP ports and ready-to-use examples are provided for ARM Cortex-M (M0/M0+/M3/M4/M7/M33/...) as well as other CPUs. The QP RTEFs can also work with many traditional RTOSes and General-Purpose OSes, such as Linux and Windows.

MAME's purpose is to preserve decades of software history. As electronic technology continues to rush forward, MAME prevents this important "vintage" software from being lost and forgotten. This is achieved by documenting the hardware and how it functions. The source code to MAME serves as this documentation. The fact that the software is usable serves primarily to validate the accuracy of the documentation (how else can you prove that you have recreated the hardware faithfully?). Over time, MAME (originally stood for Multiple Arcade Machine Emulator) absorbed the sister-project MESS (Multi Emulator Super System), so MAME now documents a wide variety of (mostly vintage) computers, video game consoles and calculators, in addition to the arcade video games that were its initial focus. The MAME project as a whole is distributed under the terms of the GNU General Public License, 2 (GPL-2.0), since it contains code made available under multiple GPL-compatible licenses.

MMKV for Android is an efficient, small mobile key-value storage framework developed by WeChat. Works on Android, iOS, macOS, Windows, and POSIX. Efficient. MMKV uses mmap to keep memory synced with file, and protobuf to encode/decode values, making the most of Android to achieve best performance. MMKV supports concurrent read-read and read-write access between processes. Easy-to-use. You can use MMKV as you go. All changes are saved immediately, no sync, no apply calls needed. MMKV contains process locks, encode/decode helpers and mmap logics and nothing more. It's really tidy. MMKV adds about 50K per architecture on App size, and much less when zipped (apk). MMKV is published under the BSD 3-Clause license. Starting from v1.2.8, MMKV has been migrated to Maven Central. Older versions (<= v1.2.7) are still available on JCenter.

Squirrel is both a set of tools and a library, to completely manage both installation and updating your Desktop Windows application, written in either C# or any other language (i.e., Squirrel can manage native C++ applications). Squirrel uses NuGet packages to create installation and update packages, which means that you probably already know most of what you need to create an installer. Windows apps should be as fast and as easy to install and update as apps like Google Chrome. From an app developer's side, it should be really straightforward to create an installer for my app, and publish updates to it, without having to jump through insane hoops. This is a C++ logging library implementation which is accepted to Boost. It aims for extensibility and flexibility while moderately affecting user's application performance. PlatformIO is an open-source ecosystem for IoT development with the cross-platform build system, library manager and full support for Espressif ESP8266 development. It works on the popular host OS, Mac OS X, Windows, Linux 32/64, Linux ARM (like Raspberry Pi, BeagleBone, CubieBoard). Available in the PlatformIO registry. The purpose of the project is to develop a portable programming framework that facilitates distributed and multi-threaded programming for C++, Java, and Python. MADARA was originally developed as an agent-based middleware specifically for real-time, distributed artificial intelligence, but is now more general purpose for distributed timing, control, knowledge and reasoning, and quality-of-service. MADARA is composed of several tools and middleware, and the main entry point into the system is the Knowledge and Reasoning Language (KaRL) Engine, which provides a real-time scripting language for nanosecond execution times hooked into a flexible transport layer for distributed reasoning. The KaRL engine also supports object-oriented C++, Java, and Python programming through Containers, classes that provide abstractions and references for variable location within the KaRL Knowledge Base. CppWeb is cross-platform C++ library for developing web applications with server push support. The library decodes CGI variables and cookies, supports file uploads, performs automatic cookie detection, provides URL and HTML entity encode/decode functions, supports server-push (long-polling via ajax), has built-in HTML parser, SQLite database wrapper etc. CppWeb compiles on Windows, Linux and MacOSX (tested with GNU C++, MingW, MS Visual C++ and Borland C++ compiler) and can run with almost any web server (Apache, IIS, Boa etc.).
