It is easy to use without any complicated scripting or a huge load of configuration settings. You can filter the files processed by size, number of fragments, file name and path. You can terminate the process early by specifying an execution time limit.

FastDFS is an open source high performance DFS ( distributed file system ). It's major functions include: file storing, file syncing and file accessing, and design for high capacity and load balancing.

TreeSize for Unix shows the space used by each folder on your disk(s), sorted by size. It can be useful to assist in obtaining more free space. Basically a graphical version of du, with a much better interface than xdu, more practical than Filelight.

Fpart is a tool that helps you sort file trees and pack them into bags (called "partitions"). It is developped in C and available under the BSD license. It splits a list of directories and file trees into a certain number of partitions, trying to produce partitions with the same size and number of files. It can also produce partitions with a given number of files or a limited size. Once generated, partitions are either printed as file lists to stdout (default) or to files. Those lists can then be used by third party programs. Fpart also includes a live mode, which allows it to crawl very large filesystems and produce partitions in live. Hooks are available to act on those partitions (e.g. immediatly start a transfer using rsync(1)) without having to wait for the filesystem traversal job to be finished. Used this way, fpart can be seen as a powerful data migration tool.

Policy engine and reporting tool for large file systems. It maintains a replicate of filesystem medatada in a database that can be queried at will. It makes it possible to schedule mass action on filesystem entries by defining attribute-based policies, provides fast 'find' and 'du' enhanced clones, gives to administrators an overall view of filesystem contents through its web UI and command line tools. It supports any POSIX filesystem and implements advanced features for Lustre filesystems (list/purge files per OST or pool, read MDT changelogs...)

It compares files and folders, even inside compressed archives. When done, you can send the duplicate files or folders to the recycle bin, another folder or erase them, or save the list to work later.

fat_imgen is a utility you can use to create and modify FAT12 floppy images with.

A FUSE filesystem which exposes a view of a source filesystem. A shell command generates the contents of the files on request, perhaps from the source files. Configurable caching and monitoring of the source tree to limit CPUand prefetch data.

New versions @ https://github.com/hansij66/securecopy crccp and crcmv are based on coreutils (v8.23) and add crc checksum functionality to cp and mv commands. Checksums can optionally be stored in the file's xattr. The command crcsum can be used for further checksum analysis/verification, or for storing a checksum in the xattr of all files in a directory or filesystem.

The count program is a very simple utility that recursively counts the size of directories, optionally producing a per-directory breakdown of usage.

This utility observes change events of files or subdirectories in a folder and writes the event along with the file name to the console window. NOTE: Batch and PowerShell scripts are provided in order to show how to process the output of the tool. Find the examples in the Files tab.

File undelete / recovery tool for *BSD FFS filesystem

Flashmon is a Linux kernel module that monitors NAND flash memory access events using Kprobes and Jprobes. Flashmon targets embedded boards shipped with bare flash chips managed with MTD : mainly JFFS2, UBIFS and YAFFS based systems. The monitored events are : flash page read / write requests, and flash block erase operations. Instructions on how to use Flashmon are included in the archive.
