Designs created for a never produced Henry Selick project.
In their house in Tijuana on the kitchen table wall, my parents have a 1995 framed cell from my 1st CalArts student film. The tiny short was about a little Mexican boy that was taken by death to a loving and whimsical underworld. Good thing I moved on from that stuff…
Video of an early design presentation. We approved everything presented in the room that day. It’s nice to have people like Kent Melton and Megan Tindle plussing your work, making it better than it is on the page.
My original designs for Hanzo Origami.
Megan Tindle’s first version of Hanzo Origami, created for a script delivery and studio update back in 2012
One of my wife’s incredible paper sculptures for Kubo. She inspired the story and was a big part of creating the origami creatures along with Mari Tobita. Check her out @mb_papersculpt .
Superman design for an unproduced Super Friends project.
Another day, another Super Friend. I’ve always been partial to Hal Jordan.
Can’t imagine why I’d be compelled to draw this guy.
Bizarro I designed for an unrealized Super Friends project several years ago. Short lived freelance, but I got to sit in a room with Bruce Timm and chat superheroes. Not bad:-)
