David Bowie, Ten Years Gone.

It's ten years today since Bowie returned to whatever realm from whence he came, and it struck me today how little time I spend thinking about him anymore.

But that's not a slight, it's actually a compliment.

Eye Wanna Be Sedated

Bruce Rux, author of the absolute must-have foundational text Architects of the Underworld, had a very interesting take on the definitions of disinformation and misinformation.

Disinformation, Rux argues, is when an official source feeds you false information. Misinformation, on the other hand, is when an entirely unreliable and disreputable source feeds you true information, which was usually fed to them.

"Everyone Predicted It."

No doubt you've heard by now. I don't even know what to say about this shit anymore. I actually don't want to say anything at all, that's how bone-weary I am of these events.

What Year is This? It's SecretSun16

What an interesting year this has been already.

Last year during the New Horizon mission to Pluto (and points beyond), I speculated that the real purpose of this mission was not Pluto at all but was in fact about searching the murky reaches of space beyond the former planet, specifically looking for Planet X.

Our Strange Skies: 'Tis a Magic Place

Well, of course it all began with a UFO sighting.

There was an old saying, "When your neighbor loses his job, it's a recession. When you lose your job, it's a depression." So when your son has a high-quality UFO sighting, it's a 'flap', then when you and other family members have one a couple weeks later, I guess it's a 'wave'.

Bowie Meets the Men-in-Black

People are going to interpret this video as a comment on celebrity culture, but it's clear that this is about alien visitations and MIBs.

The Matrix: Agents/Angels/Archons/Aliens

These days it’s easy to forget what an astonishing feat of craftsmanship the first Matrix film is, given how it over-exposed and over-discussed it was.

The technical, thematic and visual force The Matrix packed has yet to be equaled, especially by its own utterly forgettable sequels. The film is so complete, that any sequel seems redundant (just like the first Star Wars).

Vampires, Vixens and Death from Above

Well, it's getting to be that time again, when heavenly shades of night begin to fall and teenaged girls count every second sweeping across the clock's face.

Alien Dreaming: Transformers Gonna Transform

If you've been in a cave the past few weeks, you've probably missed the thousands of images of Megan Fox relentlessly posing at various premieres of the new Transformers movie. This film is obviously a very big deal for the wizards of Hollywood, even bigger than the new Star Trek movie.

Obama the Hawk, Earth Akhet... and David Bowie?

The previous post was getting too huge but there is still so much to explore here. The walls are crumbling, people, and the hidden architecture is being revealed.

Karen Carpenter and the Show-Biz Crab-Bucket

What the hell is that disk
in the background?

My god, this is fascinating. I had only seen brief bits of Karen Carpenter playing the drums, but I had no idea she was this kind of virtuoso.

The Ka of Hathor: Riding the Pipe

I don't know how I could have forgotten one of the all-time greatest Hathors of the silver screen, the legendary Catherine Deneuve. It's hard to imagine a role more semiotically charged than her masterful portrayal of Miriam ("Beloved of Amun") Blaylock, the seductive, pansexual vampiress in The Hunger.
