🇸🇪 We kicked off yesterday with an inspiring breakfast seminar in Stockholm, diving deep into Digital Sovereignty! SUSE's newly appointed Country Manager of Nordics and Baltics, Markus Närenbäck, welcomed everyone. Then Johan Christenson, founder of Cleura, delivered a thought-provoking keynote, starting with a bold declaration: "No, we do not have digital sovereignty in Sweden/EU today." He then expertly unpacked why this is the case, pointing to the outsourcing boom of the 80s and 90s and its continuous impact. We're losing our innovative edge and becoming dangerously dependent on non-European global hyperscalers, leaving us vulnerable. It was a morning of crucial insights, concluding that while the situation is serious, European companies have real opportunities to improve. Dominic Laurie, Senior Director Corporate Communications at SUSE, explained how Open Source is a key piece of this puzzle. And to top it off, SUSE customer Peter Afzelius shared Fortnox's impressive progress in achieving digital sovereignty during a live interview.
