Description

(54) AN ABSORBENT CORE FOR A BABY DIAPER
Field of the Invention
The invention relates to an absorbent core for a baby diaper and finds application in the assortment of disposable hygiene products intended for babies and small children.
Background of the Invention
The main purpose of the disposable baby diapers is to absorb the urine while keeping the baby's skin dry. One of the common disadvantages of baby diapers and the reason for complaints from consumers is the side leakage of the diapers. The main element in a diaper that absorbs the urine and keeps the baby's skin dry is its core.
A known absorbent core for a baby diaper is the one, the absorbent layer of which is placed between layers of hydrophilic non-woven fabric. The upper surface of the core is formed with a wavy profile, where the arrangement of the "waves" is longitudinal to the core, over at least % of its length, whereby the height of the waves is maximal in the central part of the core, minimal at both ends and possibly have a flat profile at the one end [ 1 ] .
In this type of diaper, the absorbency as well as the side leakage of the diapers remain insufficiently guaranteed.
Description of the Invention It is an object of the present invention to create an absorbent core for a baby diaper that has increased absorbency and reduced side leakage, while ensuring the safety and comfort of the baby.
The task is solved by the proposed absorbent core for a baby diaper, which according to the proposed solution includes a mixture of cellulose and superabsorbent, wrapped in a non-woven fabric material and having an elongated three-dimensional working surface, with a widened front part and parallel channels, formed on at least 2/3 of its length. The parallel channels are counter-curved towards the outer part of the core at the one end, whereby the front and back of the core are chamfered. The thickness is maximum in the middle part of the core, comprising % of its length, while at both ends, the front part comprising 1/7 of the core length and the back part comprising 3/7 of the core length, the thickness is minimal. The thickness of the core at the beginning of the front part is 40% to 60% of the thickness of the middle part.
The thickness of the core at the rear end of the back part is 40% to 60% of the thickness of the middle part. The parallel longitudinal channels are located centrally in the middle and the front part of the core, with their curved ends in the front part.
According to one embodiment of the invention, the parallel channels of the absorbent core for a baby diaper are not less than 2, with a horizontal distance between them D = 20 mm +/- 5 mm and with a width of each channel E from 7 to 11 mm. The vertical length of the front part of the core is from 350 mm to 430 mm, the vertical length of the middle part of the core is from 180 mm to 260 mm and the vertical length of the back part of the core is from 60 mm to 140 mm. The thickness of the middle part of the core is from 3 mm to 8 mm, the thickness of the front part of the core is from 2 mm to 8 mm, and the thickness of the back part of the core is from 1 mm to 4 mm. The width of the widened part of the core is from 90 mm to 120 mm and the width of the narrowed part of the core is from 70 mm to 110 mm.
According to another embodiment of the invention, the thickness of the core in its middle part is different from the thickness of the core in its front part and from the thickness of the core in its back part.
The presence of the longitudinal channels in the proposed absorbent core for a baby diaper ensures a good distribution of liquid along the length of the core, thereby improving the quality characteristics of the disposable diapers. The three-dimensional profile, formed by the chamfering in the front and back of the core, provides higher absorption in its middle part at the expense of the front and back parts and minimizes side leakage from the diaper.
Brief Description of the Figure
An exemplary embodiment of the absorbent core for a baby diaper, the subject of the present invention, is shown in the attached Figure 1, which only illustrates but not limits the invention. Figure 1 is a general view of the absorbent core for a baby diaper with cross-sections in the three zones.
Detailed Description of the Preferred Embodiment of the Invention
According to the attached Figure 1, the absorbent core for a baby diaper consists of a mixture of cellulose and super absorbent, wrapped in a nonwoven material. According to the proposed solution, the absorbent core for a baby diaper is an elongated three-dimensional working surface, with a widened front part. The absorbent core for a baby diaper is conditionally divided into three zones along the length: Zone 1 , covering 1/7 of the length in the front end of the core, Zone 2, covering % of the length in the middle of the core and Zone 3, covering 3/7 of the length in the rear end of the core. The thickness A of the absorbent core for a baby diaper is maximal in the middle of the core Zone 2 and at both ends Zone 1 and Zone 3 is minimal, whereby the thickness B of the core at the front end of the Zone 1 is 40% to 60% of the thickness A, and the thickness C of the core at the rear end of the Zone 3 is 40% to 60% of the thickness A. Parallel channels are formed centrally in Zone 1 and Zone 2 of the absorbent core of the baby diaper, oppositely curved towards the outer portion of the core at the one end. The channels are located over at least 2/3 of the length of the core, with their curved ends falling into Zone 1.
According to the invention, there are no less than 2 parallel channels. The channels are characterized by a horizontal distance between them D = 20 mm +/- 5 mm and a width of each channel E from 7 mm to 11 mm.
The areas of the absorbent core for a baby diaper are characterized by the following length values: Zone 1 is from 350 mm to 430 mm; Zone 2 is from 180 mm to 260 mm and Zone 3 is from 60 mm to 140 mm.
The thickness of the core in the different zones is characterized by the following values: the thickness A in Zone 2 is from 3 mm to 8 mm, the thickness B at the beginning of Zone 1 is from 2 mm to 8 mm and the thickness C at the rear end of Zone 3 is from 1 mm to 4 mm
The widened part of the core is 90 mm to 120 mm, and the narrowed part of the core is 70 mm to 110 mm. According to an embodiment of the absorbent core for a baby diaper, the thickness B in the middle part of the core Zone 2 is different from the thickness A at the front end of Zone 1 and from the thickness C at the rear end of Zone 3 of the core.
