Definitions
- the present invention relates to a method and apparatus for manufacturing resin containers.
- Containers containing cosmetics, milky lotions, etc. are required to have an appearance that is aesthetically appealing in order to increase consumers' desire to purchase them.
- Thick-walled polygonal containers for example, rectangular containers
- glass bottles that can maintain their beauty even after repeated use. is preferred.
- glass bottles are heavy, break easily, and are expensive to transport and manufacture. Therefore, consideration is being given to replacing glass bottles with resin containers for containers containing cosmetics and the like.
- a hot parison blow molding method has been known as one of the methods for manufacturing resin containers.
- a resin container is blow molded using the heat retained during injection molding of a preform. Therefore, compared to the cold parison type, this method is advantageous in that it is possible to manufacture resin containers of various types and with excellent aesthetic appearance.
- the stretching ratio of the preform differs depending on the part of the container. Specifically, the stretching ratio of the preform is greater at the corners of the container body than at the wall surface of the container body. Therefore, in the production of polygonal containers, due to the difference in stretching ratio of the preform, for example, the pillars (thick band-like parts extending in the axial direction) on the body wall surface, the corners and ridges of the container, etc. It is easy to cause poor appearance, such as decreased elasticity and uneven thickness of the container (uneven elongation). In a typical hot parison type blow molding cycle, by adjusting the temperature of the preform before blow molding the container, the above-described poor appearance of the container can be alleviated to some extent.
- Polygonal containers for storing cosmetics and the like have high requirements regarding the appearance of the container.
- the body has a flat shape with no irregularities, and containers with pillars on the body do not meet the specifications.
- the appearance defects occurring in the bodies of polygonal containers have not been completely eliminated at present, and further improvements are desired.
- cooling of the preform becomes the main step in the temperature adjustment process after injection molding. Therefore, when trying to manufacture a polygonal container in a short manufacturing cycle, it becomes difficult to adjust the temperature distribution of the preform to suit the manufacture of the polygonal container, and the appearance of the container is more likely to be impaired.
- the present invention has been made in view of these problems, and it is an object of the present invention to provide a manufacturing method that can manufacture a resin polygonal container with an excellent aesthetic appearance in a short manufacturing cycle.
- a method for manufacturing a resin container includes an injection molding step of injection molding a resin preform in the shape of a cylinder with a bottom, and blow molding the preform in a state that includes retained heat during injection molding. and a blow molding step of manufacturing a resin polygonal container having a plurality of corners in the circumferential direction.
- the thickness of the first portion corresponding to the wall of the container is thicker than the thickness of the second portion corresponding to the corner of the container, and the outer circumferential surface of the second portion of the preform is It is located radially inner than the outer circumferential surface of the first part of the renovation.
- FIG. 2 is a longitudinal cross-sectional view of the preform according to the present embodiment.
- FIG. 3 is a cross-sectional view of the body of the preform according to the present embodiment.
- FIG. 3 is an enlarged view of the preform of FIG. 2;
- FIG. 1 is a diagram schematically showing the configuration of a blow molding apparatus according to the present embodiment. It is a figure showing an example of composition of an injection molding part. 6 is a cross-sectional view taken along line AA in FIG. 5.
- FIG. It is a figure showing an example of composition of a temperature adjustment part. It is a figure showing an example of composition of a blow molding part. It is a flow chart showing steps of a method for manufacturing a container.
- FIG. 1 is a longitudinal cross-sectional view of a preform 10 according to the present embodiment
- FIG. 2 is a cross-sectional view of the body 13 of the preform 10 according to the present embodiment
- FIG. 3 is a cross-sectional view of the preform 10 according to the present embodiment. It is an enlarged view of the renovation.
- the outline of the container 20 of this embodiment is shown by a chain double-dashed line.
- the container 20 is formed by blow molding the preform 10.
- the container 20 of this embodiment is a polygonal container with a rectangular cross-sectional shape as shown in FIG. 2, and stores, for example, lotion, milky lotion, etc. therein.
- the container 20 has a neck 22 having a mouth 21 at the upper end, a cylindrical body 23 continuous from the neck 22, and a bottom 24 continuous from the body 23.
- the wall surface portion (panel portion) 25 of the body portion 23 has a uniform thickness in the axial direction (height direction) and circumferential direction, and has a flat shape with almost no unevenness.
- the corner portions 26 of the body portion 23 are thicker than the wall portions 25. Therefore, the contour of the inner circumferential side of the body portion 23 has a shape in which adjacent wall portions 25 are connected in a curved shape via the corner portions 26 without being depressed toward the outer circumferential side at the corner portions 26.
- the bottom portion 24 of the container 20 is formed thicker than the body portion 23 .
- the container 20 By forming the container 20 into a shape having the above-mentioned wall thickness distribution, a sense of luxury and weight is emphasized, and the container 20 can be brought closer to the image consumers have of a cosmetics container. That is, since the appearance of the container 20 can be improved, the container 20 can be used as a cosmetic container or the like where appearance is important.
- the overall shape of the preform 10 is a bottomed cylindrical shape with one end open and the other end closed, as shown in FIG.
- the preform 10 includes a cylindrical body 13, a bottom 14 that closes the other end of the body 13, and a neck 12 that is formed at the open end of the body 13 and has a mouth 11. It is equipped with
- the wall thickness of the body 13 of the preform 10 is determined by a first portion 15 corresponding to the wall portion 25 of the container 20 and a second portion 16 corresponding to the corner portion 26 of the container 20. They differ in the circumferential direction.
- the first portions 15 and the second portions 16 are alternately arranged at equal intervals in the circumferential direction of the preform 10 . That is, the first portion 15 and the second portion 16 are each formed at intervals of 90 degrees in the circumferential direction, and the phases of the first portion 15 and the second portion 16 are shifted by 45 degrees in the circumferential direction. Note that, for example, the thickness of the first portion 15 and the thickness of the second portion 16 do not change in the axial direction (height direction) and are substantially constant.
- the first portion 15 of the body 13 has a radial length L1 from the axis Ax of the preform 10 to the outer peripheral surface of the preform, and has a length L1 from the axis Ax to the inner circumference of the preform.
- the radial length to the surface is L2. Therefore, the wall thickness t1 of the first portion 15 of the preform 10 can be expressed as L1-L2.
- the radial length from the axis Ax to the outer peripheral surface of the preform is L3, which is shorter than L1 in the first portion (L1>L3). Further, the radial length from the axis Ax to the inner circumferential surface of the preform at the second portion 16 is L4, which is longer than L2 at the first portion 15 (L4>L2). Therefore, the wall thickness t2 of the second portion 16 of the preform 10 can be expressed as L3-L4.
- the radial length L1 from the axis Ax at the first portion 15 to the outer peripheral surface of the preform, and the radial length L1 from the axis Ax to the outer peripheral surface of the preform at the second portion 16. L3 is different. Therefore, the outer circumferential surface of the body 13 of the preform 10 is non-circular, and the outer circumferential surface of the second portion 16 is located radially inward than the outer circumferential surface of the first portion 15.
- the inner circumferential surface of the body 13 of the preform 10 also has a non-circular shape, and the inner circumferential surface of the first portion 15 is located radially inward than the inner circumferential surface of the second portion 16.
- the outer peripheral surface of the preform is located on the radially outer side and the inner peripheral surface of the preform is located on the radially inner side compared to the second part 16. Therefore, the wall thickness t1 of the first portion of the preform 10 is larger than the wall thickness t2 of the second portion (t1>t2).

- the take-out part 34 is configured to release the neck part 22 of the container 20 manufactured in the blow-molding part 33 from the neck mold 36a and take out the container 20 to the outside of the blow-molding apparatus 30.
- FIG. 9 is a flowchart showing the steps of the method for manufacturing the container 20.
- Step S101 Injection molding process
- resin is injected from the injection device 35 into a preform-shaped mold space formed by the injection cavity mold 41, the injection core mold 42, and the neck mold 36a of the transport mechanism 36, and the preform 10 is manufactured. be done.
- the injection mold of the injection molding section 31 is opened after the injection of the resin material (filling and holding pressure) is completed or after the minimum cooling time provided after the completion of the injection.
- step S101 after the injection of the resin material (filling and holding pressure) is completed, the preform 10 is cooled in the injection mold. It is preferable to open the mold without providing it.
- the time (cooling time) for cooling the resin material after the injection of the resin material is completed in the injection molding section 31 is the time required for injecting the resin material. It is preferably 1/2 or less of the time (injection time).
- the cooling time described above can be made shorter than the time for injecting the resin material, depending on the weight of the resin material.
- the cooling time is more preferably 2/5 or less, even more preferably 1/4 or less, and particularly preferably 1/5 or less of the injection time of the resin material. Furthermore, the cooling time may be set to zero. Note that the cooling time and the injection time are parameters that can be arbitrarily set for the blow molding apparatus 30 by the operator as part of the preform molding conditions.
- the first portion 15 corresponding to the wall portion 25 of the container 20 has a thick wall thickness t1
- the second portion 16 corresponding to the corner portion 26 of the container 20 has a thick wall thickness t1. Thickness t2 is small. Since the retained heat of the preform 10 increases in proportion to its wall thickness, in the circumferential direction of the body 13 of the preform 10, the retained heat of the first portion 15 is relatively high, and the retained heat of the second portion 16 is relatively high. is in a low state.
- the injection molding section 31 is opened and the preform 10 is released from the injection cavity mold 41 and the injection core mold 42.
- the transfer plate of the transfer mechanism 36 moves to rotate by a predetermined angle, and the preform 10 held by the neck mold 36a is transferred to the temperature adjustment section 32 while containing the heat retained during injection molding. Ru.
- Step S102 Temperature adjustment step
- the preform 10 held by the neck mold 36a is accommodated in the cavity mold 51 by lowering the transfer plate, and the cooling core 52 abuts against the neck 12 of the preform 10, causing the inside of the preform 10 to A cooling rod 53 (air introduction/extraction rod) is inserted into. Thereafter, temperature adjustment is performed by blowing compressed air into the preform 10 from the cooling core 52 and/or the cooling rod 53 that are in contact with the neck 12 of the preform 10 (by blowing the compressed air away). Thereby, the temperature of the preform 10 is adjusted so that it does not become lower than the temperature suitable for blow molding, and the uneven temperature that occurs during injection molding is also reduced.
- the preform 10 is pre-blown in the temperature adjustment section 32, so that the body part expands more than the preform 10.
- An intermediate molded body (not shown) having a diameter may be molded.
- the transfer plate of the transfer mechanism 36 is moved to rotate by a predetermined angle, and the temperature-adjusted preform 10 held by the neck die 36a is transferred to the blow molding section 33.
- Step S103 Blow molding process
- the container 20 is blow-molded in the blow-molding section 33.
- the blow cavity mold 61 is closed, the preform 10 is accommodated in the mold space, and the fitting core 63 is lowered, so that the fitting core 63 is brought into contact with the neck portion 12 of the preform 10 .
- the stretching rod 65 vertical axis stretching member
- blow air is supplied from the fitting core 63 while longitudinally stretching the preform 10 as necessary.
- the reform 10 is horizontally stretched.
- the preform 10 When the preform 10 expands due to the introduction of blow air, the first portion 15 of the body 13 of the preform 10 is pressed against the wall region of the blow cavity mold 61, and the second portion 16 is pressed against the wall region of the blow cavity mold 61. Get into the corner area. Thereby, the preform 10 is swollen and shaped so as to closely fit into the mold space of the blow cavity mold 61, and is blow-molded into the container 20.
- the bottom mold 62 is controlled to wait at a lower position where it does not come into contact with the bottom 14 of the preform 10 before the blow cavity mold 61 closes, and to quickly rise to the molding position before or after the mold closes. .
- the first portion 15 of the preform 10 is thicker than the second portion 16 and has higher retained heat, so the first portion 15 deforms earlier than the second portion 16 during blow molding.
- the first portion 15 of the preform 10 contacts the blow mold before the second portion 16 while being horizontally stretched. After the first portion 15 of the preform 10 contacts the blow mold, it continues to be stretched until the second portion 16 contacts the corner of the blow mold. As a result, the thickness of the wall portion 25 of the container 20 approaches uniformity, and the meat of the container 20 moves from the center of the wall portion 25 toward the corner portions 26.
- the second portion 16 of the preform 10 has lower heat retention than the first portion 15 and is less likely to deform, and the second portion 16 is stretched later than the first portion 15. Moreover, since the outer circumferential surface of the second portion 16 is located radially inward than the outer circumferential surface of the first portion 15, the second portion 16 The distance from the outer peripheral surface of the blow mold to the corner of the blow mold increases. Therefore, the time required for the second portion 16 of the preform 10 to contact the corner of the blow mold is sufficiently longer than the time required for the first portion 15 to contact the wall portion of the blow mold. Therefore, the wall portion 25 of the container 20 is sufficiently stretched during blow molding.
- the wall thickness t2 of the second portion 16 before blow molding is thinner than the wall thickness t1 of the first portion 15, the wall of the container 20 moves toward the corner portion 26 during blow molding. Therefore, when the second portion 16 comes into contact with the corner of the blow mold, the wall thickness of the corner of the container 20 increases, and the retained heat is also high. This makes it easy to clearly shape edges and ridgelines at the corners 26 of the container 20.
- Step S104 Container removal step
- the blow cavity mold 61 is opened. Thereby, the container 20 can be moved from the blow molding section 33. Subsequently, the transfer plate of the transfer mechanism 36 moves by a predetermined angle, and the container 20 is transferred to the take-out section 34. At the take-out section 34, the neck 22 of the container 20 is released from the neck mold 36a, and the container 20 is taken out of the blow molding apparatus 30.
- the wall thickness t1 of the first portion 15 corresponding to the wall portion 25 of the container 20 is the same as the thickness t1 of the first portion 15 corresponding to the corner portion 26 of the container 20. It is thicker than the wall thickness t2 of the portion 16. Further, the outer circumferential surface of the second portion 16 of the preform 10 is located radially inner than the outer circumferential surface of the first portion 15 of the preform 10 .
- the retained heat of the first part 15 becomes higher, and the first part 15 is formed before the second part 16 during blow molding. transform. Furthermore, since the outer circumferential surface of the second portion 16 is located radially inward than the outer circumferential surface of the first portion 15, the time until the second portion 16 comes into contact with the corner of the blow mold is longer than the outer circumferential surface of the first portion 15. This is sufficiently longer than the time it takes for 15 to come into contact with the wall surface of the blow mold. As a result, the first portion 15 is sufficiently stretched during blow molding, so that the formation of pillars on the wall portion 25 of the container 20 and uneven thickness on the wall portion 25 are suppressed.
- the wall thickness of the corner portion of the container 20 becomes large, and the retained heat is also high. becomes. Therefore, it becomes easy to clearly form edges and ridge lines at the corners 26 of the container 20, and the processing accuracy and appearance of the polygonal container can be further improved.
- the deformation of the first portion 15 and the second portion 16 during blow molding is adjusted by the thickness distribution of the preform 10 and the shape of the outer peripheral surface. Therefore, even when it is difficult to sufficiently adjust the temperature of the preform after injection molding, such as when manufacturing containers in a high-speed manufacturing cycle by shortening the cooling time of the preform 10 in the injection mold, It becomes easier to obtain a container 20 with excellent aesthetic appearance.
- the inner circumferential surface of the first portion 15 of the preform 10 is located radially inner than the inner circumferential surface of the second portion 16 of the preform 10.
- the first portion 15 can be made thicker than the second portion 16 to increase the retained heat of the first portion 15, so that the first portion 15 is deformed more than the second portion 16 during blow molding. It's easy to do.
- the container manufactured by the manufacturing method of the present invention is not limited to a rectangular container with a square cross section as in the above embodiment.
- containers having a triangular cross section, a polygonal shape of pentagon or more, or an elliptical cross section may be manufactured.
- a flat container having different dimensions in the minor axis direction and major axis direction in the cross section may be manufactured.
